IAA:  What is your music background?

THE EMPIRE:  Our music background consists of hip-hop, dub step, punk rock, church, guitar, and trumpet.

IAA:  Why do you want to record and release your own music?

THE EMPIRE:  Music gives up the ability to express ourselves and be creative. Being able to record something you wrote and be present for the entire creation process is very satisfying.  The ability to record and release our own music makes us feel like artists in the truest sense.

IAA:  What are your songs about?

THE EMPIRE:  Our songs are about life, class, victory, love, loss, freedom, and experience. We are an eclectic group of individuals with different views and experiences so that creates an opportunity to write about a wealth of circumstances. The songs are 1st 2nd and 3rd person accounts and perspectives. We just really try to capture a moment or emotions the same way a camera or video recorder would.

IAA:  Who is your fan base directed towards?

THE EMPIRE:  Our fan base consists of tech savvy young adults of all races. I understand the importance of targeted marketing but it can also keep your upward mobility limited, because to like The Empire is to have a certain edge, and open mind frame. It’s more mental and emotional than income based, or race based. Anyone who wants to vibe, have fun, and look good while doing it is who our music is geared towards.

IAA:  Who are your musical influences?

THE EMPIRE:  We are influenced by Gg Allen, Bad Brains, Dj Screw, Kanye, Rusko, John Cold Train, Tupac, Matser P, UGK, Jay-Z, Scarface, Kirk Franklin, the streets, life, the government, elitest, opressors, and the heart of women and children

IAA:  How would you describe your music?

THE EMPIRE:  Power Music. Love….Energy….Life

IAA:  What makes you stand out from other artists?

THE EMPIRE:  We stand out because of our look, our approach, and our sound. Our content is all drastically different from other artists.  When you can’t fit in you should stand out. We are all unique artists who don’t fit any mold, and we are proud of that

IAA:  What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?

THE EMPIRE:  We are currently working on a mixtape and a short film to promote the sound.

IAA:  What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

THE EMPIRE:  Our career goals are to be working professionals providing entertainment to fans across the globe. In 10 years The Empire should be a household name

IAA:  How can your fans access your music and contact you?

THE EMPIRE:  www.reverbnation.com/tjthegreat

  1. Hello Earthlings. This is God. The Empire rocks. If you disagree you will have to stand before me…That is all…

  2. ok first off i like the picture. Second of all i like the article. It seems like you are already different from everybody else. now lets just hope the music is good

  3. Checking y’all out from work. I heard good things now I see y’all getting out there. That band is the way to go

  4. Nice article. I think you guys are going to do well for yourselves. Don’t be like some of these other people who give up. If you want it go and grab it. I used to be in a band but no one seemed to care so we quit.

  5. Who knew…I always thought you were bulshit but I never gave it a chance. Checked it out. Good stuff. Only thing I can say is you probably need more different beats.

  6. And yet you came to the page and wasted time from your life with hate. Don’t sweat that guys. If no one is hating you aren’t doing anything. You strike fear in losers with one article. Empire 4 life!

  7. everybody has to start somewhere. Most people are too afraid to do what they love. I work 40 hours a week to feed my kids. If I could I would join a band. I hope u guys do well. I’m excited to hear the music.

  8. Greetings from NYC! Thanks for sending the link to the article. You guys have what it takes to make it. Wishing you the best!
