IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?
KYDD KA$H: Las Vegas, Nevada
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?
KYDD KA$H: I’ve been doing music my whole life. When I was younger, I used to sing in my grandma’s choir. The person who got me into rapping was my dad. He taught me a lot about hip-hop. Without him I wouldn’t be doing this. My dad is a singer as well so that was another music mentor that I could go to and learn how to develop my skills.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?
KYDD KA$H: The reason I want to release my music is because I want to send a positive message of change. People need a real raw artist that is not scared to say what the people can’t. I want my fans to visualize what I’m going through or how I’m feeling at that current moment.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?
KYDD KA$H: My songs are about the life stories that people have told me. I put my own interpretation and spin on them. One song could be a story about one of my uncle reminiscing about the past, or it could be about something that I saw that day. I’m very unpredictable when it comes to my music. I can be really spontaneous.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who is your fan base directed towards?
KYDD KA$H: My fan base is directed towards everyone. I don’t like to make music that is only for a certain groups of people. That wouldn’t help me in the long run. I feel that if you make music you gotta make your music for everyone, so that nobody feels left out.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?
KYDD KA$H: My musical influences are Stevie Wonder, Donell Jones, Robert Glasper Tupac, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole. These are some of the artists that have inspired me to keep pushing for what I believe in, and never quit on my dreams.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?
KYDD KA$H: My music is different. You wouldn’t normally here this type of word combination in hip-hop nowadays. Everyone always have punchlines and lyrical content that only a certain group of people can relate too. I’ll try to make the listener take a visual trip with my words. I want him to see what I see and hear what I hear.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?
KYDD KA$H: I am an original image. Also, I’m a very honest positive person. I motivate my people more than bringing them down.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?
KYDD KA$H: I’m currently officially dropping my mixtape called the Knowledge Jones Mixtape on March 31st. I also released a song off of it called “911 (Emergency).” You gotta go check that out if you haven’t already.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
KYDD KA$H: In 10 years I plan on having a degree in business management, my own production company, multi-million dollar studio, talent agency, record label, and a couple golden and platinum plaques.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How can you fans access your music and contact you?
