Fans blasted Keri Hilson via Twitter for posting a photo of an Amy Winehouse look-a-like on the social networking site. According to Necolebitchie.com, Keri was partying at Juliet in New York City when she ran into a fan dressed up as Amy Winehouse. She posted the photo and then wrote, “Gasp* Amy Winehouse resurrected to party w/ me!!! (seriously, uncanny resemblance).”
Hundreds of outraged fans tweeted the singer — saying that her tweets were insensitive and in bad taste. She later took to Twitter to apologize. She wrote, “Come on, I mean no harm. All due respect. But really the resemblance freaked me out. This was simply the best tribute ever. #RIPAMYWINEHOUSE. I apologize 2 anyone who might’ve taken it the wrong way. As a fan, I thought it was cool that she dressed up to honor Amy.”
- She added, “I had no ill intent, but I understand how it appears insensitive…my bad twitterville. For real.”
- Amy Winehouse was laid to rest yesterday morning (July 26th). She was found dead in her London apartment on Saturday (July 23rd).
