Starting out playing the keyboard in church, Dele Christie knew music production was his true calling. A force to be reckoned with, he does beat production, recordings, and mixes songs. He composes his own songs and is known for his unique and versatile style. The music world needs to get ready to hear great music from Dele Christie D.C!

IAA:  What is your music background?
DELE CHRISTIE:  I started out learning to play congas at the age of 3. I then was introduced to the drum kit and began piano lessons at the age of 6. I developed my ability to play the drums in church. Once I built my confidence, I moved on to playing the piano and directing the church choir. As my church is African orientated my music background generated around African beats and rhythms.

IAA:  Why do you want to record and release your own music?
DELE CHRISTIE:  Many people say they want to record and release their music because they love it.  Although that reason is true to me, it is more than just love to me. Music to me is a power that can change and move people’s emotions. To have that sort of influence on people’s lives is more than just love, it’s a huge responsibility that is inspiring to me.

IAA: What are your songs about?
DELE CHRISTIE:  Although I produce the music, the outcomes of the songs ranges from love to the religion to society. Moreover, as a producer my moods always have a great impact on the outcome of the song, which I can translate into music wonderfully.

IAA: Who is your fan base directed towards?
DELE CHRISTIE: My fan base is directed to every and anyone out there, young or old. I believe there should be no limit to whoever hears my music. As a producer, I would love my music to be heard and appreciated by everyone.  That would be such a blessing.

IAA:Who are your musical influences?
DELE CHRISTIE:  To be honest with you, my influences have been of extreme taste. I grew up with three sisters who constantly played Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, Usher, TLC, H-town, R Kelly and Michael Jackson. My influences cannot be placed on one person or genre. However, coming from a producers perspective, DarkChild, Max Martin and Dr. Dre have really influenced me.

IAA: How would you describe your music to people ?
DELE CHRISTIE:  My music has so many elements in it, that it is hard to put a label on it. At times it can be pop/dance, but yet have the African rhythm and feel that makes people want to get up and dance. It can also be a delicate slow jam and evoke deep feelings. In between that it can have the rap/hip hop vibe and still maintain its message across to the listeners.

IAA:  What makes you stand out from other artist ?
DELE CHRISTIE:  The fact that I can take music from different genres and combine them adds to my individuality. When people hear my music they can say “That is a Dele Christie production.” Also, many people that know my music always have something to say about how I play the keyboard in my tracks.

IAA:  What are some upcoming projects, you are currently working on?
DELE CHRISTIE:  I am currently working on various tracks and composing songs for artists and songwriters. I have so many instrumentals just waiting to be written to and sung on by artists. Next October is my Churchs 40th anniversary celebration, and I am presently working on re working old hymns, training my choir and producing a CD to be released on the day.

IAA:  What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
DELE CHRISTIE:  My career has always been focused on one goal and that is to become a successful music producer, who is able to help everyone. I AM GOING to be the sort of person who’s name and work stands for years to come.  I want to makes a big change in the world we live in. Another goal is to venture into different businesses, such as teaching youths the piano and opening up a music college.  I am currently looking for a production deal and anything to do with composing music whether it is for games, movies, adverts or even acting. Sky is the limit for me!
