IAA SPOTLIGHT: Get To Know JLEW-California’s Uprising Star!

Passionate about music all his life, JLew knew as a child that music was his destiny. Drawing inspiration from his favorite rap group Bone Thugs N Harmony, JLew was dedicated to perfecting his craft.  After the death of his father, JLew used his pain and passion to write his first song, Better Alone. From there he went on to develop his skills as a writer, rapper, and performer. Today, JLew is dedicated to reaching new heights and is prepared to take the music world by storm!

IAA:  What is your music background?
JLEW:  In the 5th grade, I started taking music classes. I grow up listening to a variety of music and was greatly inspired by Bone Thugs N Harmony.

IAA: What inspired you to pursue music?
JLEW: What inspired me the most was hearing my family, especially my mother tell me how great of a job I did on my songs.  When I would perform at local shows people would ask me when my mixtape was coming and wanted to know where they could find out more about me.

IAA:  What are your songs about?
JLEW:  My songs are about everything people see and do in life.

IAA:  Do you write your own music?
JLEW:  Since I have learned how to write my own music I haven’t stopped.

IAA: Who are your musical influences?
JLEW: My musical influences are Tupac , Bone Thugs N Harmony , Lil Wayne , Rick Ross ,
Young Jeezy , Wiz Khalifa , Snoop Dogg , Plies , Trey Songz , Chris Brown and so
many more.

IAA: How would you describe your music to people ?
J LEW:  When I describe my music to people I let them know its all about targeting the ladies. I also include a few tracks for the fellas and club scene. I also feel that when I make music for the ladies, I’m expressing what men want to say to a woman, but just don’t know how too.

IAA: What makes you stand out from other artist ?
J LEW:  I stand out from other rap artist because I make music for the ladies, but can also make music that people can party and dance too.

IAA:  What are some upcoming projects, you are currently working on?
J LEW:  I’m actually working on a new mixtape right now and I’m hoping to have it done by
this time next month.

IAA:  What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
J LEW:  My goal is to be successful and make it to the next level so that I can take care of my family. In 10 years I see me dropping about 2 or 3 final Cd’s then retiring. I also plan to own my own business.
