IAA: What is your music background?

TONY CASHMAN:  I was raised listening to rap, hip-hop & rhythm and blues. I picked up soul and rhythm & blues from my grandparents. I picked up hip hop music from my uncles and friends.

IAA:  What inspired you to pursue music?

TONY CASHMAN: I pursued music after being involved in my cousin’s dance group from the age of 5 to 8.  I pursued music because I like to entertain people and have fun. Listening to music was a way for me to ease my stress. When I began to write my own music it became a passion for me. I enjoyed writing music on subjects that grabbed the attention of  my listeners.

IAA:  What are your songs about?

TONY CASHMAN:  My songs have many different themes. I rap about everything, from living the street life, to enjoying life, to discussing my views on the world & politics. Most of the time, I write songs based around the mood I am in.

IAA: Do you write your own music?

TONY CASHMAN:  Yes  I write all of my music. My music is 100% authentic and orginal, “I can not rap what another man writes.” It is not in my nature to recite or (spit) someone else’s written work. I would feel as if I’m belittling myself and my craft.

IAA:  Who are your musical influences?

TONY CASHMAN:  My musical are Michael Jackson, Tupac Shakur, Big Daddy Kane, Ice Cube, T.I. Slick Rick and Scarface. I grew up listening to mostly Scarface and Rap A Lot . As time progressed, Tupac became my  favorite artist because of his work ethic, passion for writing music and for making a change in the world.

IAA:  How would you describe your music to people ?

TONY CASHMAN:  I would describe my music as authentic and original.  When I say authentic , I mean there are no fabricated lines, bars, or situations, I speak from the heart when I’m in front of the microphone or when I write. These are my personal experiences.

IAA: What makes you stand out from other artist ?

TONY CASHMAN:  I only speak on my life and my experiences. I write about subjects that other people can relate too, even if I haven’t been through it already. I have a go hard work ethic as well, and I won’t stop until everything is completed.

IAA:  What are some upcoming projects, you are currently working on?

TONY CASHMAN:  The current projects I’m working on are my Hard Work Pays Off mix tape, and I am working on two new singles off my debut album as well. I collaborated with  Jaymes Davis a.k.a. Streat of Profit Gang on the production as well. I am working with a my homeboy Laurence Clarke aka Covert as a rap artist under C.G.E.

IAA: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

TONY CASHMAN:  I would like to sell anywhere from 500k to a million plus records here in the U.S. as well as the U.K. My career goal is to run a successful independent recording label that will grow into an empire.
