IAA:  What is your music background?

JOHNNY DUTCH:  I grew up listening to a lot of gospel and old 70’s funk music with my mother Freaks Come Out At Night by Whodini was the song that captured my love for hip-hop

IAA:  Why do you want to record and release your own music?

JOHNNY DUTCH:  Since the age of 16, I’ve traveled the world and traveled due to competing on the international track and field circuit. Through music, I express my experiences and what I’ve seen. In the art of music, I can be upset at the world, feel very intimate, or extremely confident without any distractions.

IAA:  What are your songs about?

JOHNNY DUTCH: In my music, I often talk about doubters and naysayers. In my track career, I have had people speak negatively about my ability to perform. Therefore, in my songs, people will hear a lot of aggression, focus, and drive. I also enjoy creating music that’s sensual and seductive.

IAA:  Who is your fan base directed towards?

JOHNNY DUTCH:  My fan base will be anyone who can relate to my music. It’s about top ranging from having a bad night at the club to the young guy who’s too shy to say he loves his girlfriend in public.

IAA:  Who are your musical influences?

JOHNNY DUTCH:  My biggest musical influences are The Dream, Michael Jackson, Bobby Valentino, Aaliyah, Kanye West, Esthero, and Lauryn Hill.

IAA:  How would you describe your music to people?

JOHNNY DUTCH:  My music is very emotional and has subliminal meaning behind it. I like my music to have more than one possible interpretation.

IAA:  What makes you stand out from other artist ?

JOHNNY DUTCH: I’m great at multi-tasking. I can rap a killer verse, do choreography, perform all night, and then later compete in a major track competition; I’m an all around guy. Additionally, I have a strong vision for the next decade of music. I have incredible concepts I want to express.  No one puts Dutch in the corner!

IAA: What are some upcoming projects, you are currently working on?

JOHNNY DUTCH:  I’m currently collaborating with rapper Kevin Mequist  with his new Mix tape titled Thug Style. I’m also working on my latest mix tape titled  King Dutch produced by Brandon Stovall. I also will be performing at Apache Cafe in Atlanta, Ga.

IAA: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

JOHNNY DUTCH:  I’d like to have released successful albums, and become a phenomenal athlete. In 10 years, I definitely see myself continuing my music and ultimately having my own film production company for music videos and film.
