IAA SPOTLIGHT: Get To Know-D’ANTE TILLMAN-Georgia’s Uprising Star!


In 2007, D’ante Tillman received the Holy Ghost and knew his calling was to perform gospel rap. D’ante Tillman believes that God delivered and saved him so that he can share his testimony. More than just a rapper, D’ante is here to spread the Word of God through his powerful music.

IAA: What city and state are you from?

D’ANTE TILLMAN:  I’m originally from Baltimore,Maryland but reside in Savannah,Georgia.

IAA:  What is your music background?

D’ANTE TILLMAN:  Well I have been a big fan of music all my life. The first instrument I ever played was a flute. As I got older, I started making beats. I made my first beat off a drum and bass machine. Now I am making beats and producing for other people. I really thank God for the gift!

IAA: Why do you want to record and release your own music?

D’ANTE TILLMAN:  My music is for people who need to hear something positive. There are people all over who need to hear a good word from God. I want my music to have a major impact on people’s life. I want to tell people that Jesus is real and that he loves them. I want to tell them that brighter days are coming, and that they need to hold on and keep the faith.

IAA: What are your songs about?

D’ANTE TILLMAN:  My songs are about Preaching Jesus! I also talk about everyday life struggles and how to overcome obstacles.

IAA: Who is your fan base directed towards?

D’ANTE TILLMAN:  My fan base is directed to the addicts, drug dealers, and to the single mothers struggling to make ends meet for their children. It’s directed to people who’ve been hurt by the church, by family, and friends. It is directed to everyone in the struggle trying to make it out. I’ve got a testimony and I can show people the way.

IAA: Who are your musical influences?

D’ANTE TILLMAN:  Well I listen to a variety of music. I grew up on Mahalia Jackson, Rev James Cleveland, Sam Cooke, Al Green and so on.  As Far as rap music,UGK,Rob Base, Tupac, Ice Cube, DMX, TI, Common, Nas, Eminem, Rick Ross, Sticcman, Swayback, J.O.E from Team Too High Flytime, C jizzy, OG Carl Ski, and a few others.  I am influenced by gospel artist such as Canton Jones, The Ambassador,  Lecrae, I.S.W.A.G., Maal Da G, Zion, Mali Music, Porschia Mitchell and many more.

IAA: How would you describe your music to people ?

D’ANTE TILLMAN:  My music is inspirational, motivational, uplifting, edifying, and educating! My music is good music that is healing for the soul and everyone can listen to it.

IAA: What makes you stand out from other artist ?

D’ANTE TILLMAN:  I let God direct and lead the way! I don’t talk about things that I don’t do! I come directly from the Word of God. I’m here to minister God’s word and I really want to see people be saved, delivered, and set free! I come with my own style and uniqueness. I’m very creative and don’t mind being different. Everybody is still doing the same things while I’m always trying something new.

IAA: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on ?

D’ANTE TILLMAN:  I just dropped my lastest album titled, In the Midst of the Storm.  I’m currently working on my upcoming album titled, Open My Eyes.

IAA: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

D’ANTE TILLMAN:  I plan on being an icon in the gospel rap world. My goal is to reach people all over and  get my music converted in different languages. I see myself doing movies, TV shows and paving the way for other upcoming gospel artist. I see myself building shelters, churches, and centers for the communities etc..
