IAA:  What city and state are you from?

I AM NO NAME:  Houston, Texas.

IAA:  What is your music background?

I AM NO NAME:  When I was 9 years old I spit my first freestyle to the entire beat of “June 27th”, a song dedicated to legendary Houston artist, DJ Screw. From there I began rapping at the school lunch table and performing at local talent shows. I then began to make beats and write Hip Hop and R&B songs for myself and other artists, creating a huge underground buzz for myself because of my many talents as an artist and my potent lyrical content.

IAA:  What inspired you to pursue music?

I AM NO NAME:  We all are here for a reason; everyone has a role to play. I cannot throw a football like RG3 nor can I dribble a basketball like Lebron James. Instead of having a natural ability to be athletic, I was given a mind that can create metaphors, similes and double entendres at a moment’s notice. Team that with the hustle I adapted from the streets and family and close friends believing in me, my interest in a hobby grew to ambition which led to me pursuing a career as a music artist.

IAA:  What are your songs about?

I AM NO NAME:  My songs are just a compilation of my mental views and beliefs. Take the song, “Confessions (of a winner)” for example, it is full of metaphors and lyrical word play expressing the confidence, poise and integrity that a person must have to display and become a true winner. Here are a few jewels from the song: “Forever flowing freestyles for friends, fun, financial for every man, woman, child who want to hear a different sound…I might fall back and regroup but won’t surrender…with the help of God I will defeat, defeat and become the winner.”

IAA:  Do you write your own music?

I AM NO NAME:  No, I do not write my music. I compose my songs from a mental arrangement of words in my head.

IAA:  Who are your musical influences?

I AM NO NAME:  My musical influences are Tupac, Biggie, KRS One, Jay Z, Andre’ 3000, Eminem & Lil Wayne. Also other various R&B, Country, and Hip Hop artists from the 50’s to the 90’s.

IAA:  How would you describe your music to people?

I AM NO NAME:  My music is, “real music”, genuine hip hop. It’s what the elders listen for and what the new generation relates too.

IAA:  What makes you stand out from other artists?

I AM NO NAME:  The things that make me stand out from other artists besides my lyricism and mental talents are the honest and relative views my songs possess. I’m sure the mystery of who is behind the mask also draws fans to me over other artists.

IAA:  What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?

I AM NO NAME:  I am currently working on my next album, “The Rough Draft,” which should be released sometime in the 4th quarter of this year. I am also working on my video single, “D.R.E.A.M.”. We’re planning a tour as well, so look for us in a town near you.

IAA:  What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I AM NO NAME:  I plan to be the top major artist of my time, releasing quality hip hop projects as I climb the charts to the forefront of the industry’s mainstream. In 10 years, I see No.Name being one of the most popular brands that hip hop has ever seen, representing; America, Success and Hip Hop’s Origin, breaking barriers in album and single sales online and offline.
