IAA: What is your music background?
JUSJ: My father and grandfather were both into music. I found my own way into music in middle school. I also studied music as a vocal major in college.
IAA: What inspired you to pursue music?
JUSJ: Watching Michael Jackson as a kid always made me want to pursue music. It was just something about the way he could touch so many different people no matter their age, race or religion.
IAA: What are your songs about? (themes)
JUSJ: I talk about relationships, love, going out on the town, good times, bad times, just everyday life.
IAA: Do you write your own music?
JUSJ: I write my own lyrics, for sure.
IAA: Who are your musical influences?
JUSJ: Michael Jackson of course, Kanye West, John Legend, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Maroon 5, etc.
IAA: How would you describe your music to people?
JUSJ: It’s a well-blended combination of Pop, R&B, and Hip-Hop. I bend between the genres and create something that will make you want to dance.
IAA: What makes you stand out from other artists?
JUSJ: When you hear one of my songs, those are my real words, my real thoughts and feelings. I tell real life stories you can relate to because it’s personal and truthful. I love when someone listens to one of my songs and says, “That’s exactly how I feel. I just never could put it into words like that.” That’s a wonderful feeling, at least to me.

JUSJ: “Somewhere Near Here” is available now on Soundcloud for free download. I’m working on “JusJ: Welcome to My Wolrd.” It should be out before the end of the year.
