elleevenGroovetronics: That’s how electronic/dance act Ellee Ven personifies her musical signature: a fusion of rock, pop, rap and electronica. Somehow, the mesh of seemingly disparate elements unifies for an upbeat ethereal grab bag of tribal beats and treats, accompanied by Ven’s dreamy, girlish vocals, which lie somewhere between Stacey Q and Everything But the Girl’s Tracey Thorn. Seventh full-length CD “Her Wildcat Lovin Majesty”— featuring accompaniment from Antony Lee on guitars, is vast in its stylistic presentation, from the trippy, trance-inspired “Under My Skin” and dark, Depeche Mode-conjuring “Signals” to blippy ‘80’s-reminiscent “What Am I Running From,” rock/rap jam “Next To You” (featuring a rap from Prodéje) and stripped-down acid flashback “Wonder Where These Roads Will Lead.” The common theme throughout is a positive, mood-enhancing flow, suited to Saturday nights in clubland—acknowledged by Ven’s recognition with a nod as Artist of the Year at the 2009 South Bay Music Awards and winner of the 2008 Los Angeles Music Awards’ Electro Pop Artist of the Year. Who needs chemical enhancement? Ellee Ven’s “Majesty” is one fervent elixir.

  1. Ellee Ven has a universal, feel good, sound…the dude Prodeje is mad nice wit his lyrics…Her Giveintothegroove Charity is a spectacular event where her band sells out one of the largest venues in the MidSouth.

  3. I’ve followed Elleeven here in LA for several years, and have enjoyed her performances. She’s a pleasure to watch on stage…no two shows have ever been the same, and she always leaves you wanting more. She’s prolific, creative, and sexy…what else could you ask for?

  4. She’s a great musician and performer. We are lucky to have her here in Kentucky, and Give Into the Groove has done a lot for our many local nonprofits. She’s also just a generally great person and friend, and she’s got some really great new music in the works!

  6. Ellee is very talented and has a very unique sound. She blends various styles and genres and they come together so natural. I’ve been following her for awhile, and always look forward to hearing new music from her.

  7. I’ll never forget the first time I heard one of Elleeven’s songs. I could not believe how someone not attached to record label could put out a song that was so clean and professional. My first thought was she sounds like Lisa Stansfield. When I listened to the rest of her album, I was surprised at the versatility of her music. Throughout the years, Elleeven’s range has been from Pop to Electronica to rap. Her songs come from the heart and are the real thing You can tell that she is not like some other artists out there who are doing it for the wrong reasons. Her music really touches the soul.
