IAA: What is your music background?
MR. FROSTI: I grew up in the church, so a lot of the music I grew up listening to was choir songs and Christian R&B. Songs by artists such as, Cece Winans and Kirk Franklin bring back a sense of nostalgia when I hear them.
IAA: Why do you want to record and release your own music?
MR. FROSTI: I just love working with music in general. I love the feelings and moods you can get from music. I love listening to the poetic art of some artists. I love how music can influence people’s lives. I want to be able to give something to the world, and I feel like music is that something I can give.
IAA: What are your songs about?
MR. FROSTI: My songs are about life, all aspects of life. I’ve written songs about break-ups, make-ups, parties, virginity, sex, sleeping, work, family, everything. There’s no subject I won’t touch. Moreover, my songs are about looking at these subjects from a different perspective.
IAA: Who is your fan base directed towards?
MR. FROSTI: My fan base is directed towards suburban kids mostly. My music is for anyone who appreciates an artist who approaches life in a humorous light.
IAA: Who are your musical influences?
MR. FROSTI: I remember once saying “When I grow up, I wanna be like Andre 3K, mixed with a lil of the old Ye, and a little bit of J. Cole, some Kendrick Lamar, mixed all in a pot, and baked up into Mr. Frosti.” Some other influences include my homeboys Karbon Kassius and Keyz, and my mentor Adio Sutton.
IAA: How would you describe your music to people?
MR. FROSTI: I would describe my music as a CD you can sit back, relax, press play, and listen to from beginning to end with no interruptions.
IAA: What makes you stand out from other artists?
MR. FROSTI: I choose to stand on grounds and philosophies that differ from other artists.
IAA: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?
MR. FROSTI: One project that’s approaching with increasing excitement is my free album “Not The Same” which drops on several websites July 9th 2013. It is phenomenal. I honestly wish I could drop it now.
IAA: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
MR. FROSTI: My ultimate goal is to manage my own record label so that I can help other artists give back to the world with their music, while at the same time make a little money.
