IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?
STEVIE BUCKS: I’ve been rapping passionately for over 12 years. My father, who is a professional musician back home in Ghana, got me into the studio at the age of 8 years old where I recorded my first song called “James Foolers.” The song is about a hot girl. Since then, my love for writing new music and recording it has evolved deeply.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own
STEVIE BUCKS: I want to record and release my own music solely because in life I’ve learned the only way to be happy is to do what you love. Withdrawn from the pressure of my parents encouraging me to keep going to school, I feel like hip hop is where my life is. Within my music contains the elements to make hip hop lovers fall in love with the art all over again. My music must be heard!
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?
STEVIE BUCKS: My songs are basically about the reality of the world we live in. I like exposing to the world how people in the hood and minorities live. I want to expose the things they do to get by while trying to avoid being ignorant, ex. drug dealing, prostitution, murdering etc. I also like to involve a message within my tracks talking to the people going through these things. I want to walk them though the negatives and repercussions, while encouraging, uplifting, and promoting unity.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who is your fan base directed towards?
STEVIE BUCKS: My fan base is directed toward the hip hop generation ages 14 to 30.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?
STEVIE BUCKS: I would describe my music as revolutionary soulful hood blues.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?
STEVIE BUCKS: What makes me stand out from other artist, especially in 2013, is that I bring to my music sensible quotable lyrics. I stand outside of the norm of today’s hip hop which to me is for the most part not real authentic hip hop. My beat selection is rare, and all of my music contains messages and stories. I think it’s music like mine that will change the game.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?
STEVIE BUCKS: I am currently working on some videos for my recently released mixtape ‘ Soul Projects’ and I am also working on singles and a mixtape scheduled to drop spring 2014.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in ten years?
STEVIE BUCKS: My career goals are to be recognized as one of the greatest MC’s of all time, to have my music sold and listened to all over the world. I want to be able to make a living and provide for my family off of my talent. In 10 years, I plan to be able to say I made a difference in the world with my music, and be able to help and provide resources to people due to the path I paved for myself.
