With a reputation for hustle and grind in the streets of Saint Louis, Missouri, the KandyQueenz established a name for them in the independent music industry by creating a movement of individuality and sweet sounding women empowerment. The KandyQueenz name was established when KandyGurl and Hershe Kizz collaborated on their sweet but concrete lyrical content and style eight years ago with “Just like Candy!” You can find their music on ReverbNation with over 1,600 fans and Twitter with over 1,000 followers. The KandyQueenz have performed and sold CDs in Illinois, Dallas, Little Rock, Las Vegas, Houston, ATL, and of course where their fan base was developed: their hometown of St. Louis.
The KandyQueenz first stole the hearts of fans when opening for R&B artist Sammie at the Venue in St. Louis City, then as the special guest opening act for the University City High School talent show. The KandyQueenz are definitely no stranger when it comes to radio spins as the duo were featured on 100.3 “The Beat” for a consecutive eight weeks in 2008. The city was even more familiar with the KandyQueenz after being aired for more than a year on the local television station with “Street Heat TV.”
The KandyQueenz form a complete package with the investments they make, the creation of their graphics and music videos, and their ability to record their music themselves. The delivery, reaction of the people, and the movement that their songs “Ima SupaStar” and “Pigeon Toed” created, are the reasons why the KandyQueenz chose these hits as their singles. The KandyQueenz have had a mix-tape titled “Meet Us @ Da Club” in the streets for the past four years and are currently working on their new mix-tape “Sugar Rush,” soon to be released. There is no stopping these ladies.
To keep it “Oh So Sweet” and simple for you, be sure to expect to see the KandyQueenz entertaining with their opposite but agreeable attitudes, polychromatic colors, and crunk and crazy style in generations to come.
