IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:  What is your musical background?

SWIFT DADDY:  My musical background comes from the love of music from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. Whenever we had a family reunion or block party, my aunts and uncles would always have their oldies records playing loud with the door wide open.  They would get an extension cord and just putting the entire sound system outside and letting the music go all night.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you  want  to  record  and  release  your  own music?

SWIFT DADDY:  I started recording around 2006. My brother set the vision for one of my best friends who could freestyle really well. We would be together every day smoking and trying to hustle up some money, just kicking some fly words. He would rap every day and I would come behind him with some decent word play. I always like telling stories about how things would happen throughout the day. I would tell stories about something that happened to a good friend of mine, rather it was good or bad, painting the picture of a life lesson. The main reason I want to release my music is to tell my side of the story, the story of an “everyday working man” who has or had to get their hands dirty when paying uncle S.A.M. isn’t always adding up.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:  What  are  your  songs  about?

SWIFT DADDY:  My music is about; business, enjoying life, motivation, how to conduct yourself in the streets, how to hustle forward, dealing with women, staying away from negative energy, prosperity, smoking a nice joint and relaxing yourself with a group of people, and just letting the album play all night. Music that lets you escape from the everyday worries of not saying what you feel!

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:  Who  is  your  fan  base  directed  towards

SWIFT DADDY: Everyday people, men/women age 16-45, hard workers with 9-5 jobs or self-employed/unemployed.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:  Who  are  your  musical  influences?

SWIFT DADDY:  For the soul aspect of my music, I would say Johnny Guitar Watson, Marvin Gaye, Frankie Beverly, and Charlie Wilson. For the more lyrical aspect of rapping, I know for a fact it was Tupac for his strong delivery and passion. I was influenced by Snoop and Pimp C because of their slick word play and game. I like Jay-Z and Andre 3000 for hustle and substance, T.I. for the story telling, and my brother B. Trap & Big Uno.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:  How  would  you  describe  your  music  to  people?

SWIFT DADDY:  I would describe my music to people as having a lot of substance behind a wonderful selection of beats/production. It keeps you engaged, energized, and gives you just enough to say, “I want to listen to something different with a variety that always keeps you looking for more.” It gives you just what you want!

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:  What  makes  you  stand  out  from  other artists?

SWIFT DADDY:  I think what makes my music stand out more is it being personable and relatable to the everyday individual. The lyrical content people want to hear when their dealing with day to day situations. If it’s not completely relatable, then at least there will be something they can remember doing one time in their lives that gave them that relatable moment.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:  What  are  some  upcoming  projects  you  are currently  working  on?

SWIFT DADDY:  The “Unfinished Business” project is finalized and mastered. We have been pushing the “Purple” single for about 6 months. We have over 50 unreleased songs. The second project’s title has not been released to this point.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:   What  are  your  career  goals?  Where  do  you  see  yourself  in  10 years?

SWIFT DADDY:  In the next 10 years, I see myself as a song writer, producing (video game tracks), owning a few businesses, doing voice overs for cartoons, and even potentially touring overseas.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:   How  can  your  fans  access  your  music  and  contact  you?

SWIFT DADDY:  My fans can contact me on Facebook, Reverb Nation, Twitter, datpiff.com, hotnewhiphop.com all under “swiftdaddy.” All management info is on Twitter at “teamswiftdaddy”, demecoheath@gmail.com, youtube under swiftdaddy, grindandshinetv.com, and finally teamswiftdaddy@gmail.com.
