IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:  What City and State where you born in?

JRIGGUH:  I was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The home of the UAPB Golden Lions and the coldest Marching Band in the land (M4)! My Mom was attending that college while pregnant with me. The story is I was born at Jefferson Medical Center in Pine Bluff and the doctor who delivered me, his father delivered one of my mother’s oldest sisters’. I’ve lived in about 4 states but I grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas and Texas.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:  What is your musical background?

JRIGGUH: I’ve been writing and free styling since the age of 8. Through my rap music I was able to stay sane by getting rid of all types of negative energy.   My mom always told me that I had “something,” and as long as I put God first I could do and be anything. I’m from a long line of musicians starting with my Great-Great Grandfather John Foote. He was a Jazz musician and he played with some of the greats like William “Count” Basie. My mother played flute and alto saxophone in the band, and her sisters and brother also played instruments. My Pa-Pa played alto and tenor saxophone since he was a youngster. When he was in his 20’s he played in a band called The Hi-Fives and later they became The Super Stars. His mother was a singer and majored in music.  When it was time to do class schedules in middle school my mom said, “You need to get in the band.” So I did. I chose the baritone horn in my middle school band. I remember my mom asking me, “Why did you pick that instrument?” I was pretty good for a beginner but my love has always been rap music! I’ve been around music all my life. It’s just in my blood.

Sometimes I’m laid back and other times I’m turned up!
