Chris Hunter, better known by the stage name “Carlito” is an American rapper hailing from Little Rock Arkansas. At a young age he developed a strong passion for music. Over the years, Carlito honed his skills and began to pursue music full time. Armed with raw talent, stage presence and sheer determination, Carlito is ready to show the music industry what it has been missing.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:  What city and state are you from?

CARLITO:  I was born in Pulaski County, Little Rock, Arkansas . I spent most of my life growing up in a small town in Arkansas called Forrest I eventually moved from Arkansas to Texas.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:  What is your musical background?

CARLITO:  During the early 90’s whenever we had a family reunion or block party, my aunts and uncles would always have their oldies records playing loud. They would get an extension cord and just put the entire sound system outside and party to the music all night. So whenever my family hosted a talent night, I would act out one of my favor artists from the early 90’s.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:  What are your songs about?

CARLITO:  My songs are about real life situations. For example with my hit single “Oh Lord” I was feeling like my time was coming to an end. I had been shot at three times. It was time for me to get on the right path. Where I’m from people die young on the road I was heading on. I needed God to show me better days and better ways.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:  Who are your musical influences?

CARLITO:  My musical influences are Yo Gotti, 2 Chains, T.I, Boosie, Jezzy, 2pac and more. My music gives off confidence. I write about situations that many young to middle-aged people have experienced in their lives. I write music that people can relate to like how people could relate to Tupac’s song “Dear Momma.” People could relate to Tupac’s “Dear Momma” because in today’s world so many youth are growing up without a father figure and most turn to the streets to learn how to be a man. Like Tupac, I hope my music can touch their mind and soul and lead them down the right path.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:  How would you describe your music to people?

CARLITO:  .    I’m able to write, record, and perform. I bring a great amount of energy while performing. I love to interact with the audience and I love to work with other artists who have a great passion for music. I have been through a very complex past. I have had to deal with broken promises hard times, and tough love. It all has summoned itself into my head and my outlet is music

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:  What makes you stand out from other artist?

CARLITO: With me being from Forrest City, Arkansas there is not much of a musical outlet here. Being from the bottom and having to work myself from coast to coast while fresh out of high school was hard. I lost my grandmother and grandfather in the same year. I was staying with them on and off , and I thought I lost everything. I felt a lot of pressure and my career was challenging, but I never gave up. I stepped up to the plate and like a batter on his last strike I tied on two outs. I gave it all I got.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:  Tell us about one of the hardest challenges that you had to face in your music career and how did you overcome?

CARLITO:  There was a time when I thought my music wouldn’t catch a lot of people’s ears and I felt like giving up. I kept working hard, mapping out my tracks and trying to be a better artist.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:  What are some upcoming projects that you are currently working on?

CARLITO: At the moment I’m working on a mixtape  entitled “Young Nigga’s Running Thangs.” I can’t wait for people to hear it. I also have new music videos in the work on www.youtube.com. Please look me up under Lito Strong on www. YouTube.com for few new music and videos . I also have my clothing line trying to take off as well.
