IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?

TRENT DICKEY: I was born and raised in Knoxville, TN. I grew up in the south in a college town setting. I loved my upbringing and the people I had the pleasure to grow up with. I had good and bad experiences, but growing up in Knoxville made me the man I am today.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?

TRENT DICKEY: I have been attracted to music from a young age. I always felt that music was in my destiny. As a kid, my family would always have dance battles with my mom cheering me on in the background. That was my first experience having the feeling that someone really believes in me. Thank-you mom. In high school I was in a dance group. We eventually started to write our own songs and started performing them on the Knoxville scene. This was a crucial stage in my career because I really got into writing and creating. Having different group members with different styles, tones, and voices helped me see that I could use their talent to express my lyrics in so many different styles and versions. I found this to be truly amazing. Throughout my life I’ve performed at many venues from Knoxville to North Carolina. No matter what life has taken me through I’ve never stopped writing!

You’ve got to learn to sacrifice in life sometimes. Now I want to be an example to those people to never give up on your dreams, no matter what you go through to get there. I want to be known as a singer/songwriter with a message of love and real life songs that all can relate too. IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in your music career, and how did you overcome?
