Music is an art form whose medium is sound and silence. Where even in ones “SLEEP” the rythm can be heard. Sleep has always had a passion and love for music and all that surrounds the art of hip hop since a young age. His talents were something that shined from within in all aspects of his life, from schooling, athletics, to entertainment …this young man was nothing to “SLEEP” on. He has always excelled through his writing skills ie. (poetry, spoken word, short stories ), but Sleep was un-knowing where the combination of all these skillz and talents would lead him. He then Joined forces to create the group “Y.O. (Young’nz Official)” with two other members at the age of sixteen and began really honing his sound and musical talents. In 2003 the group would deploy a self titled project “Y. O.” with much local success and buzz; this is where the crew began to capture its core of faithful followers down their musical path. Sleep would continue his studies as a student of the game as he started working on his solo projects and continued work and recordings of his second group project. Y.O released “It’s Official” their second mixtape in the fall of 2005. Sleep began working on his first solo mixtape in 2006, but progress was soon halted by success in collegiate sports in which these efforts landed him an NFL contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Baller shit! After playing professional football, receiving his degree in (accounting) and plenty of life experience to go along with it, Sleep has returned to the hip hop scene with one Loud message to deliver “I’m Bac’ On It & Here to Stay.” He released his solo debut Fralbum (free album) rightfully titled “Bac’ On It” March 27, 2012 and is currently working on his second solo effort “Oxygen.” Sleep has plans to challenge the listeners ear and push the envelope on Quality music. Recently started his own entertainment company Famous On The Weekends Music Group and is a WxDxI. (We Do It Independent Ent.) recording artist. Sleep Is 10 toes down for the road ahead of him and fully committed to his Art and Family. He was quoted saying “I am independent and would like to keep it that way. I wanna change the structure of music and put more power into the artists hands, WDI We do It Independent.” “A heart Beat is the music Of the unconciuos state we Call Sleep , some times Slandered as the cousin of death , Sleep is the brother of life and a replenishing force of rejuvenation to the exhausted. We must all Sleep to wake up, It is now time for Sleep, the only way you can be woke!”
