IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?

GREEMLIN: I was born in Gatineau, a city that’s located right across the water from Ottawa in the beautiful country of Canada. I went to school here, moved around a bit in the area, but never far from here. I was kind of hyperactive as a child; I was always good at sports. After high school I had to get a job in order to pay a pension at my parents’ house. I ended up leaving the family house at 18 and having to work on cars. 6 years later, I was a fully licensed auto body repairer technician.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?

GREEMLIN: Well it’s funny cause I have a lot of rap influences as well as metal influences.

Eminem and Cypress hill when I was young for rap. Being deep into rap really started later for me. At the age of 12 I was playing almost every songs from Metallica on the guitar. That then turned into harder stuff like Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth, Lamb of God. I had several metal bands as a guitarist and vocalist.

I stopped playing metal when my son was born. The reason being that to me, metal wasn’t the kind of music I wanted playing in my studio or at my shows while having a baby. I mean the music is awesome, don’t get me wrong, but it’s just too hateful for a kid in my opinion. Then I happened to find out I could rap. It all started with creating beats. It’s kind of weird, cause I was producing beats for some friends that were rapping. They were going crazy on my beats. Then one guy needed someone to do a verse on a track, I ended up doing it and I haven’t stopped.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?

GREEMLIN: I feel that everyone should have the right to hear a great artist endless talent, his own style, and a dark mind that’ll make you feel and understand his vision of life.  Greemlin can sometimes be a psychopath, that’s what people want to hear and I always bring it to them. Plus I got my bro FroOsty that I keep close,

because I love his rhymes and if I record stuff, I want him on most of it.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: what are your songs about?

GREEMLIN: It all starts with a beat I create. It then depends of the mood I’m in, cause really you’ll hear it. If I’m mad you’ll know I’m mad. I mean, it’s not always about me. It’s about anything I see or think about. Although I do talk about myself in most of my songs, cause that’s what rap is about. It’s about putting everything in your own words from your own perspective, whether it’s about poverty, abuses, life injustices, being lied too or people’s selfishness. It has to be worth saying and that’s what I do. I never say anything on a record that I don’t believe in,  unless I’m just joking around, so yes, it really depends of my mood and the beats I come out with.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who is your fan base directed towards?

GREEMLIN: Anyone that knows how to enjoy good music. My music is for anyone that isn’t afraid of beats that are crazy enough to be stealing their souls. When they listen to Greemlin, whatever their age, they can’t let him go away. They just want more songs!

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?

GREEMLIN: All right, I have a lot; so let me tell some of them in no order: Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Hopsin, Rittz,Yelawolf, Tech n9ne, Meek mill, Jadakiss, Eminem, Mobb deep, Asap ferg, Cypress hill, Jcole, 2Pac.

Also lots of Metal bands like: Bloodbath, Acid bath, Job for a Cowboy, Behemoth, Cradle of filth,  Dissection, Korn, Metallica.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?

GREEMLIN: I got my own style. I have my own sound and I don’t think no one has a voice that sounds like mine. Really! It’s just different in so many ways and that’s what’s nice about it. I like that I am able to be able to come out with something no one has heard before. I bring something new and fresh that sometimes sounds dark and scary. Don’t get me wrong though it’s parental advisory all the way.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?

GREEMLIN: I don’t do it to have anything in return. I do it cause I love doing it.  Sure, you have to promote yourself when you have that kind of talent; you want people to feel your music. Being famous or not, I don’t really care, but it would suck for people to not be able to hear and understand Greemlin. A dark vibe with an insane flow from hell, mix it all up with a crazy mind, the perfect freak.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?

GREEMLIN: I’m always working, writing lyrics, making beats, recording. That’s all I do. Me and my bro FroOsty never stop making awesome music. We come out with new songs every 2 weeks so we never got any time for ourselves, but that’s what we love doing.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

GREEMLIN: My goal is to be able to get more people to listen to real rap. I want less people supporting the artists that say the same thing over and over. To me, the “money and b*tches rap“ is just dump and if I end up famous, believe me they will suffer.  Greemlin won’t take any bullsh*t. In 10 years, I know I’ll be on a stage everyday or on the road to be on the next stage, cause that’s what I was born to do.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How can your fans access your music and contact you?

GREEMLIN: My fans and everyone wishing to join Greemlin on his quest to success have lots of ways to reach us and listen to our music. Whether it’s comments, suggestions, and artist that want to collaborate, streaming, downloads, or purchase of songs and albums. It’s all down here.
