Jaraday is a versatile contemporary Pop Beat mixed Hip Hop and R&B artist. He has written, arranged, produced, and collaborated with the best in the music industry. His down to earth personality and creative intelligence makes him a genuine talent and a gentleman. Jaraday grew up in a music family. He sang in the church choir and played musical instruments. He credits his parents for exposing him to all genre of music. Jaraday has deep roots in the west coast of the African continent Nigeria, he grew up appreciating different cultures and the music associated with these cultures. His musical career has taken him to various countries and venues around the world. His deep-bending, sharp-soulful, melodic sway sound is unique. As an artist, he has performed and shared the stage with popular artists both in the United States and around the world. Jaraday is college graduate and has keen interest in making people smile with music. There’s always a smile to share. His zeal to give back to the community is evident by his non-for-profit foundation called Motherland Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to provide the right resources and tools to under privileged youth population and communities around the world starting in Africa. Jaraday undertakes yearly projects to achieve the mission of his foundation.


IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?

JARADAY: I am originally from the majestic, bustling, and hustling continent of Africa, Nigeria. I currently reside in the United States where I currently calls home. Born and raised in Lagos State with ancestral roots in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?

JARADAY: Everyone in my family sings. At one point, my entire family sang in the same choir. Everyone had to know music and carry a tone through a song. It was always merry and jolly in the family because our hearts were filled with songs. Music means a lot to my family, and I grew up appreciating all genre of music. It was a learning tool and my channel to express my creativity. I played percussion from an early age and enjoyed the character it adds to the rhythm of the sound. While pursuing my undergraduate and masters degree, I joined a world-renowned vocal group with several international tours and award recognitions. The group is also credited with collaborations with renowned musicians in the industry like Earl Klugh.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?

JARADAY: I love to share what I create and see the same joy, peace, and excitement I felt while recording the music

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?

JARADAY: My songs are about love, loyalty, determination, courage, curiosity, and the celebration of the human journey we call life.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who is your fan base directed towards?

JARADAY: My fan base is directed towards free spirit music lovers with no inhibition.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?

JARADAY: Growing up and listening to different genre of music shaped the way I listen and appreciate music. My musical influences include Seal, Sting, Take 6, Brian McKnight, Fela, Sunny Ade, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Earl Klugh, Ike Dairo, Luther Vandross, London Symphony Orchestra, Faith Hill, Cheryl Crow, Barbara Streisand, just to name a few.

JARADAY: My music can be soothing, exciting, and insightful. It stirs your imagination, makes you jolly, and spur for life. There are so many emotions. You are part of the experience, and it never stops even after the music stops because the sound stays with you for life.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?

JARADAY: First and foremost, my name is different; my sound is unique to me, and easy to appreciate. I strive for excellence and I’m consistent because I always give my 100 percent. I’m the total package. I write, arrange, and perform my songs.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?

JARADAY: I have a huge soft spot for children. I see them as little reminders of us when we were still naive and innocent of the cares of the world. My Jaraday Backpack Buddies project supplies over 1000 backpack and school supplies to school children in Africa. My Build2Last project is an initiative to rebuild and renovate schools in Africa that are in deplorable conditions. Melody Mind is an upcoming project with a single objective of encouraging the teaching of music in elementary schools in Africa. I’m promoting my new CD release titled “Takeover” and getting ready to embark on my multi continent tour that will cover Africa, Americas, and Europe.
