Born Joel Aaron Hudson, who is well-known by others as, Aaron Miles. An R&B/Soul singer from San Jose, California. The name Aaron Miles compliments his style and also was created in memory of his late parents, Richard Eugene Hudson and Karen Lorraine Hudson. Aaron was born and raised in San Pablo; a city within the central area of Richmond, California. “Knowledge equals power, and Power equals money….” is one of the two quotes that Aaron uses to define his character and overall artistry which his father handed him. “The earth has music for those who listen…” is also a quote in which describes the vision of Aaron Miles. This quote derives from legendary poet, Shakespeare.

In Present day, Aaron spends most of his time either writing music, in the studio, or performing for local venues in the Downtown San Jose area. Aaron is in the process of releasing his first ever solo project titled, “Midnight Music,” which will be available sometime in late June of 2015. Currently, Aaron is working with artist T-Buiz on the promotion of their hit single “Fly as Ever” which is a spin- off of old Hip-Hop artist, LL Cool J’s single, “Luv U Better.” Along with that, Aaron has other singles that have been released digitally such as “Get Down”(a remake of Get Down On It by Kool & The Gang) , “One Night”(which was a song show cased on radio station 106.1 KMEL’s web contest), “Home Turf” (which also aired by the local DJ Big Von himself in the summer of 2014). Before then, Aaron released his joint EP with producer KVLI (Kali or Kalion the beat) “Midnight Music (The Pre-Album)” on iTunes in January of 2014.

Back in 2008, Miles was a part of R&B/Hip-Hop group “Shine City” which was a three-man trio based out of Fairfield, CA. Artist members were older biological brother Chayse Hudson, who currently goes by Chayse Bank and family friend DeMario Newton. In 2009, the trio decided to part ways and pursue their own careers in the music industry. Miles is still involved with older brother Chayse, who is currently one of the well-known Hip-Hop artists in the bay area along with newly built fan base in Chico, CA. Chayse is focusing on newly released album “Drink, No Chayse” on iTunes as of March 23rd, 2015. Aaron Miles and Chayse Bank are currently in the process of creating their own paths and opening their own doors to industry instead of working on a new project together. Sometime within the next few months, Miles and Bank will be creating a new project together after 3 years. Now, Miles is working closely with producer KVLI, who is the reason behind the smooth – abstract sound that Miles brings to the industry. Both KVLI and Miles share similarities using their creative minds and their “ear for music” and the melodies that can be experimented by using samples from oldies artist such as Kool & The Gang, and others such as Usher, Ginuwine, Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR, etc. “Seize The Moment” song from Miles EP, “Midnight Music (The Pre-Album) compliments artist Ginuwine’s long time hit “Differences” as well singer Usher’s hit song, “U Make Me Wanna”. Miles and KVLI bring a one two punch combo by using their ability to use any oldies record, song melody, or tune and flip it to make their own creative style of R&B.

Sometimes the bad things that happen in our lives put us directly on the path to the best things that will ever happen to us…” is a quote that justifies the reason behind the meaning of Aaron Miles as an overall artist, who is known for his charisma, and ability to affect the industry with the message that he sends to people in the lyrics or melodies of his music. For Aaron, it’s more than just music, but to challenge those out there who have experienced the hardships of life and who can rise above any obstacle or life altering problem they are faced with. Aaron soon hopes that he can be idolized for hisversatility as singer, that can think outside the box when it comes to creating music for the world.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?

AARON MILES: Born and raised in San Pablo, CA, but I currently reside in San Jose, CA

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?

AARON MILES:  I began singing at the age of 4 years old. The origin of my voice mainly comes from my father,

Richard Eugene Hudson, who was a Tenor and the other half comes from my mother, Karen Lorraine Hudson. Growing up I was told by my father that artists such as Peabo Bryson, Jennifer Hudson, and Bassist Verdine White of Earth, Wind and Fire.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?

AARON MILES: Growing up, I was always told that I was a “natural born” singer. However, it was my choice ultimately to want to pursue my career in music. My parents played a huge role in my decision to want to be a singer due to the simple fact that I had clear understanding for music at such a young age. I grew up around all types of music, Oldies, Gospel, Motown, R&B, Jazz, Pop, and Rock etc. The reason why I really want to record and release my own music is because I feel I have a voice that needs to be heard. Without a doubt, I feel as though the music industry has lost sight of what music should really sound like. Most artists in this generation have forgotten the true meaning for what is to make music and to be a great musician. What makes me different from most artists today, is that I don’t pay so much attention to the materialistic things that can be gained from your success in this industry; but I simply appreciate that I get to wake up every morning and make music that comes from the heart and have fun while do it.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?

AARON MILES: My music consists of memories from my past, and also what is currently happening in my life. I base all of my songs on situations regarding relationships, life experiences, and things that people could actually relate to.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who is your fan base directed towards?

AARON MILES: My target demographic is between the ages of 21 to 50. I believe that my music is clear enough for the people that are young and older just because I like to bring an old school/new school feel with my music.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?

AARON MILES: My mother and father are the ones influence me the most whenever I’m on stage, or recording at the studio. Growing up with a parents who lived in a generation where music was so profound and not just generalized by the type of clothes you wore on your back, but mainly for the simple idea of changing someone’s current mood, or bring equality and peace to our world. Another influence of mine would be Jamie Foxx, just because I share similarities in terms of my personality and overall demeanor. Known for his charisma and versatility, he was able to influence me by showing people that you don’t have to pose as someone else, but be yourself and have fun doing what you love.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?

AARON MILES: My music is mixture between old school R&B and this generation’s style of R&B. My music can be broken down into different genres – R&B/Soul, Neo-Soul, Contemporary R&B, & Hip-Hop. It’s like a mesh of Jamie Foxx, Musiq Soulchild, Ne-Yo, Luther Vandross and The Dream all in one, although my voice can carry into different octaves.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?

AARON MILES: You don’t hear that many Tenor type of singers in this generation who can crescendo and decrescendo between and Tenor, Alto, or Soprano. I also have a lot of charisma and passion for what I do. Some fans that I have performed for have told me that my voice carries a lot of emotion and meaning in the words that I’m saying. I can also adjust my voice to any melody of any song no matter the tune or key. People envy me as an artist because I use my life experience to drive the power and feeling into the lyrics that I write.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects that you are currently working on?

AARON MILES: I have one project in the works titled “Midnight Music” which will be released in the next two months. It’s an R&B project that was co-written by myself, and co-written & produced by KVLI (Kali or Kalionthebeat). It’s a compilation of different events that all occurred within a 24 hour time period and also tells a story. The mood of the album has good/darkside to it. Each track is different from one another, but coincides with one other in a sense of the stories that are being told in each song. Otherwise, I have other singles such as Fly As Ever, by artist T-Buiz featuring myself; Get Down, by myself and KVLI etc.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

AARON MILES: My long-term goal is to some day be one of the most well known R&B artists in the world, and to have built a plethora of connections across the world and influence others to do who they love. I want to start my own record label for the artists who always considered to be underrated and help bring their talents to life as well continue to entertain the world with my music. Short-term goal would be to continue to build my brand & image as an R&B singer, as well as network with our producers, DJ’s and artists. Otherwise, my main goal is to leave my mark in the music industry by becoming a positive icon that other generations in the future can thrive off of.
