IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?

KNUCKLES: I was born at Reynolds Army Hospital, Ft Sill, Oklahoma, also known as Lawton, or L-TOWN to the natives!

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?

KNUCKLES: I started writing poetry and rhymes when I was 13 years old. Poetry is at the core of my musical style. After a few of my poems were published nationally I started to put my rhymes to beats. Back in the day, it was funny to me when people would laugh at the little white boy stepping up to battle or cypher but they weren’t laughing after I dropped those lyrics on them.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?

KNUCKLES:Like many in the business, music is my release. I’ve been through a lot in my life and nothing gets me through like this music thing. Even when it’s the business stressing me I take it to my pen and pad.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?

KNUCKLES: On the real, my music is about my perspective on life, on the struggle. It’s country cause I’m country. It’s Hip Hop cause that’s my first love. It’s real cause I’m real.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who is your fan base directed towards?

KNUCKLES: Like my next single says, Hippie chicks, black skaters, emo kids, rednecks. There’s a line that says, “Everybody’s welcome” That’s real because everybody is welcome to Knuckles Rap.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?

KNUCKLES: Outlaw Country, Underground Hip-Hop, Battle rappers. Everything from Johnny Cash to Wu-Tang.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?

KNUCKLES: We like to call it Red Dirt Rap. It’s Outlaw Country meets Hip-Hop.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?

KNUCKLES: I don’t play for the critics. It might be trite to say but Haters gonna hate. I make music that I like and that my fans like!

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?

KNUCKLES: I have an EP about to drop called City Streets/Country Roads. We are doing a music video for my next single ‘BBQ Ball’ and a remix of ‘ANDYYYY.’

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS : What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

KNUCKLES: I live for today. My only goal is to make music that is true to me and where I come from.
