Jvleel Gone (Pronounced Jaleel Gone) grew up on the southwest side of Detroit, Michigan and he is from very humble beginnings. Music has always been his escape, at the tender age of 8 he started his musical journey which mainly consisted of baby rhymes, after he gained a little experience from his baby rhymes later he competed with his older brother to see who could write the best raps. This practice helped him refine his sound, and as a result he noticed that he had improved as a writer and rapper, However he didn’t really get serious with rap until he was 12 years old.

Jvleel Gone knew that he wanted to be a rapper but there was one big problem he didn’t have money for studio time or studio equipment. He didn’t let that stop him, and started using his cell phone to record his music. After high school enrolled in Weatherization school in order to get money for equipment.

Now, he had equipment, but he needed beats to rap over so he learned how to produce, mix and master and continued to get better and better. He released a few promo songs, mixtape, and now is going full blast on his music career with big plans for the future. He feels that music is a way to get your emotions out and hopes that his music is inspiration for someone going through something or is feeling helpless or hopeless. His style is hungry, ambitious, and for the soul all in one. He does it for the underdog the person that doesn’t accept their humble beginnings but instead challenges it and makes the choice to change their life for the better.   Like all rappers, he feels he will make it to the top. The difference between him and others is that he won’t stop until he makes it, no matter how hard he has to work or how many times he falls, after all he is used to beating the odds.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?

JVLEEL GONE: I’m from the southwest side of Detroit, Michigan.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?

JVLEEL GONE: Well to start, I’m from Detroit, which is the home of Motown, so I was born with a lot of music around me. As a kid, I remember my mom, aunts and uncles playing all of the Motown classics that the world came to love. Eminem also shaped my musical background. When he first dropped, I remember the city going crazy and the rap climate becoming more vibrant, especially after the movie “8 Mile” dropped.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?

JVLEEL GONE: I love being able to release what I want, when I want, and have full control over the content that I want to put out without needing approval from someone. I also want to be able to be in control of my own future and career.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?

JVLEEL GONE: My songs are about everything that goes on in life: pain, happiness, hope, ambition, and determination. My latest album is mostly about the struggles that I went through when I was younger. I know that there is somebody out there going through what I went through, and I want to give that person the hope and knowledge that he or she can accomplish whatever he or she puts his or her mind to it.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: who is your fan base directed towards

JVLEEL GONE: I believe that any fan of rap can potentially listen to my music and become a fan of my music. My music isn’t just directed to a certain person or group of persons. I try to create a feeling. Whoever can vibe with that feeling will feel what I am talking about.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?

JVLEEL GONE: Curren$y is one of my biggest influences. Listening to him taught me to always tell the truth and never fabricate a story and also to stay independent and work hard. Others that have influenced me include Lloyd Banks, Jay Z, Styles P, Eminem, Joe Budden and Fabolous.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music?

JVLEEL GONE: It’s about life, the ups and downs we all go through, our struggles, and that swag type of song, when I’m feeling myself, Lol, from upbeat songs, to something chill , to something sad. I’m very versatile.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?

JVLEEL GONE: The thing that makes me stand out is the fact that there is only one me. Nobody can tell my story the way I can. I am the only one that lived my particular life and I am the only one that can explain it from my perspective.
