JOHNNY MAC: Music is a source of emotion for me. Lyrically, I try to do music, and we all somehow can relate to the concept.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?
JOHNNY MAC: Past life experiences, either with love, life, or my childhood. Also, my current life situations. I try to target a wide variety of audiences. The majority of my songs are about life, past, and present.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who is your fan base directed towards?
JOHNNY MAC: Age range 16-40. Both male and female. It consists of all types of individuals, and all types of races.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?
JOHNNY MAC: Eminem, Nas, South Park Mexican, Tupac, Biggie, and Baby Bash.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?
JOHNNY MAC: Real, authentic, and down to earth. My music is more like poetry in each verse, rather than corny, cheap punch lines . Each song tells a story. Each song is something everyone can relate to. Every beat enhances the perfectly, catchy written choruses. My music will have you singing along and will be stuck in your head for hours.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?
JOHNNY MAC: My uniqueness, plus my catchy flow and smooth yet rugged delivery. Also, I take much care in writing creative standout lyrics. I don’t spit the same old thing that everyone else is spitting. I speak from the heart, with a dope poetic edge.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?
JOHNNY MAC: I am currently in the works with several local promoters trying to get booked for several local shows in the near future. Also, I am planning on throwing my own local show, with a few local artists to perform with me as the headliner. I am currently in the studio. I recently recorded my new single, titled “Fell Off”. I am also filming a music video next month. I am currently purchasing new beats and working with new local producers to record songs for my sophomore album. The release date in December 2015. My debut album “Changing the Game” was independently released June 2013. I want to promote my debut and sophomore albums. I have recently designed graphic t-shirts to sell and start a street team. I also will continue promoting non-stop.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
JOHNNY MAC: Long-term, no one-hit wonder here. No make quick cash, then I’m out here. I love to make music, always have, always will. I want to make classic records and albums to be remembered for all time. In ten years I see myself: Sitting on top of the charts with another hit and another multi-platinum selling album. I want to be performing in front of sold out arenas and thousands of fans. Enjoying life and all its wonderful splendors.
