IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?
HUNNID ON DA TRAXX: I’m from a small city outside of Chicago known as Gary, Indiana. Home of the legendary Michael Jackson, a place where Glen Robbins and Tevin Campbell came from.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?
HUNNID ON DA TRAXX: I grew up listening to Too Short, N.W.A., Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and the Chronic album. I can remember to this day, My uncle Eric Tyrone Beecher would play the Chronic album by Dr. Dre with the song named ‘Let me Ride’ on repeat in the tape deck driving in the Pontiac sunbird drop top with three finger rims. Back in the day I listened to a a lot of UGK east coast rappers like AZ,Nas,Keith Murray,Wu-Tang Clan. The second part of my life I grew up in the studio literally right next door to Bottom Side Records. Lil Menace who inspired me and showed me what I know now. I was like a sponge soaking up all the knowledge. He saw something in me that I didn’t know I had, and that is what we call today talent. To me talent is broken up nowadays. A lot of artists just want to be in the mix. I want to make music as well as make history.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:.Why do you to record and release your own music?
HUNNID ON DA TRAXX: I feel like I can make a difference through my music, and through my words. I can make a difference because words are powerful and becauses music teaches
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?
HUNNID ON THE TRAXX: Life, past events, present events and future goals. My songs tells a visionary story that you can relate to. My songs are colorless, but filled with hope and gives you some sort of past memory of a good time you had. Also my music makes you think of the things that made you smile, laugh, or got you back to your comfort zone.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who is fan base directed towards?
HUNNID ON DA TRAXX: My fan base breaks down in different aspects for example, Firstly, I’m a producer. I produce for everything from, R/B artists to hip-hop, and even rock & roll, to heavy metal. As a songwriter I can write for ages 5 up to 55 or ages 7 and up for PG-13. As a artist, I can perform many songs that reach the youth, ages 14 and up. As a music engineer I can create and edit different types of musical productions for other artists and all types of fans on a great scale.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your musical influences?
HUNNID ON DA TRAXX: My influences are from all over. From the sounds of Too Short, NWA, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Tupac. In this new era (Wiz Khalifa) who discovered me in this music game. Also, Kendrick Lamar and my down south artists like UGK,Eightball & MJG and anything that was hot back in the days of 1992. The east artists that have influenced me are Run DMC, Biggie Smalls, P-Diddy, Jay-Z. Before them, it was Nas, Keith Murry, AZ, KRS- One, The Roots, Talib Kwali, Foxy Brown, MC Lyte, and many more. Let’s not forget about the old school artist Isley Brothers, Issac Hayes, Luther Vandross, Stylistics, Earth Wind and Fire. I got all different types of what I like to call good music and will never go old at all.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?
HUNNID ON DA TRAXX: My music gives people that party vibe. Whether you’re at the workplace excited for payday on Friday, or waiting on that special girl to call, you can relate to my music. You know the type of music you want to sit back in the car and play when you are cruising around town, that’s the kind of music I create.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?
HUNNID ON DA TRAXX: My lyrics are basic, but very unique. My music has swag and my beats are catchy. They are very unique with a global bounce to them. Being versatile gives me opportunity to perform on any song. Being a producer gives me the ability to produce from my own stand point .
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects your currently working own?
HUNNID ON DA TRAXX: I’m currently working on my album 100% (self titled) I’m finishing up my second hit record ‘Martians’, as well as features from Taylor Gang Wiz, Juicy J, Chevy Woods, and many more .
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
HUNNID ON DA TRAXX: To be able to cross over as a screen film movie director for major films, as well as acting, modeling, and teaching the up an coming talent how to express their feelings and love through their music, film, and poetry.
