Ras Kronik is a singer/songwriter and producer. He is an artist with his finger on the cultural pulse of reggae music. His songwriting reflects upon the struggles of all mankind and the rewards that can be gained spiritually if one only believes in a power that is higher than man. He also writes about love won and lost. Whether it’s love between a man and woman or the love of the Most High, he brings his message across with clarity and definition.

Ras Kronik’s electrifying voice seems an amalgamation of many great voices in reggae–soulful, chanting, and edgy. Kronik’s weaves the cultural lyrics of “old school” roots music with modern day experiences to create a unique listening encounter. Reggae – naked and raw is an apt description for Ras Kronik’s musical style, in which he forgoes the frills of extensive remixes, overdubbing and other musical refinements.

As a singer\songwriter, Ras Kronik has three albums to his credit. His first album “Life” was released in 2006 under his own label Lovebird and met critic’s favor for its originality. The next album “Breaking Loose” was released in 2009 and had popular hits “Beat of My Heart, title song “Breaking Loose” and “Rough Times.” His newest album, “The Real Thing Remix” is set to be a classic Roots & Culture album. With this album Ras Kronik comes into full focus with 14 hot songs that reach to the souls of his listeners. This album showcases; vintage reggae, dancehall and mid-tempo rhythms, strong melodies and messages that are universal. Stand out tracks include Ghetto Life, Real Thing, How We Move (featuring Bonafide) and the big track Hail the King, The Way to Life and Intimate.

Ras Kronik began recording in studios in Kingston, Ocho Rios and Negril, Jamaica and in 1998, released his first single “Gold in My Treasure” that went to number 11 on the RJR Radio charts. His music is strongly influenced by some of the kings of Reggae that include; Buju Banton, Maxi Priest, Beres Hammond, Bob Marley, Garnet Silk and Lucky Dube, just to name a few. But according to Ras Kronik he listen to all types of music, which he said increase his versatility.

Ras Kronik is no ordinary artist, his skills and his stage performance is so entertaining that everyone wants to see him and his performance record is impressive. He performed in numerous concerts and tributes throughout Jamaica, including Summer Sizzle in 2006 with Beenie Man, Camillionaire and various leading reggae artists. He also performed in the U.S. Virgin Islands and in several venues throughout the United States. He performed at the sold out “Disturbing the Peace” festival in Tampa, Florida at the historic Cuban Club; and various venues in California and Nevada. Most notably, Back stage bar and grill Dillard at free mont street Down Town Las Vegas the Diablo Club located at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip, the Boulder City Music Festival and Lake Las Vegas.

His recent single Tittle This Morning Bona had earned him the #1 spot on the New York Reggae radio network music chart hosted by Clinton Lindsay. The song is distributed by Caribbean Downloads. Ras Kronik has a Video for the song Feelings which is doing very great. In this song the Artist described his feeling that he gets by smoking MARIJUANA and also the Decriminalization of Marijuana. The Video has been streamed by Cari Ola a platform that stream Caribbean and World music Video.

Ras Kronik is the President of Love Bird Production, Inc. which is a publishing and recording company. The multi-talented Raskronik is emerging into the international music community. Equipped with a professional management team, and several hit songs. Ras Kronik intends to make a “major impact” on the international reggae music scene.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?

RAS KRONIK: I live in Las Vegas NV but was born and raised in Jamaica on the outskirt of Clarendon a small town call James Hill.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?

RAS KRONIK: My music background is just going out at a tender age listening, dancing and vibing to the sounds of that era you know my eldest brother was a dj at the time and I use to go out with him a lot to different towns in Jamaica, from those days everything I do is just music if I am walking, I’ll be chanting when I am in school is the same thing .Then I come the realization that I have been bless with the talent so I decided to pursue it.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?

RAS KRONIK: There’s a saying promise is a comfort to the foolish, It’s not that I only want to record and release my own music, but you see when you have people promising things and not fulfilling their promises, some say they can do and when you check it out them can’t you know .But to say I record for a lot of people who has not release my songs , so I said to myself if I don’t do it for me it won’t happen that’s when I start to really push to make it happen work hard booking studios until I got my own production studio. But I still do record for other people I record last week for a friend of mine.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?

RAS KRONIK: My songs my songs, my songs reflex on the struggle of mankind both spiritually and emotionally it deal with social commentary the happenings of today and tomorrow the issues that plaque our people .my elders carry the torch so I am taking the initiative of doing so through music.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?

RAS KRONIK: My musical influences is so much because I listen to and admire so many greats their work and their accomplishment .not to say I don’t have my favorites, like the King Bob Marley and the Wailers, Lucky Dube, Maxi Priest, Buju Banton, you have Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, just to name a few of the main influences musically.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?

RAS KRONIK: I wouldn’t say it is my music even though I wrote and perform it. I perform it for the people so I would say it is the people’s music, in saying so the positivity and happiness that it brings its family oriented it can play anywhere and everywhere in all venues. Those are some of the ways I would describe the music that I make.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?

RAS KRONIK: What makes I stand out from others is the way I deliver the uniqueness of my style my vibes the melody, my originality, the things I talk about and the way I talk about them which has made it even easier to identify me that is what makes I more distinctive from others artists. I think I am bless with a soulful voice and been a vibrant performer. That makes me stand out from artists.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in your music career and how did you overcome?

RAS KRONIK: Smile, one of the hardest challenges I every face within my musical career is to be heard get air play. That’s one of my hardest challenges but I overcome by not giving up, I stay humble, positive and truth, you know there are three D words Discipline, Dedication and Determination while I give thanks and praise to the almighty.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?

RAS KRONIK: Right now I am working on my Wild and Free album I have a couple singles releasing from it and I am working in order of the Most High to get it done within certain time but let see what happen I have been writing a lot while getting back my band together.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

RAS KRONIK: I would love to know the business of music and that’s why I am pursuing my Bachelor Degree in Business Management at the University of Phoenix that will allow me to deal with it on a professional level in which I can help myself and be able to help others, in 10 yrs from now I would love be a living legend I see myself making real music and entertaining the people just like other legend of today.

Good going Ras Kronik, you have been keeping up the standard I saw in you from back in the early 80’s ever since I heard you practicing your vocals while toiling at work or at break and offered to back you since then. We have been on a long journey which is reaching the goal you aspired for by instilling the 3 D’s. There is a lot more talent on the back burner to be realized in the near future, so continue keeping me astonished as usual.
