IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?
DJ ICE: My music background is deejaying. I actually stumbled into doing it by helping
my uncle pulling off his first successful event. I was a freshman in high school, and my uncle was a radio personality throwing a party for my peers. My job was to hand out flyers and promote. I was well known in our city because I was very good at playing basketball, so handing out flyers as me and my crew went to different neighborhoods to play ball, was easy for me. I showed up at my uncle’s event, and the booked deejay was not there so my uncle asked me to play some songs until the booked deejay arrived. Well, the booked deejay never showed, and Dj Ice was created. I’ve been deejaying every since.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?
DJ ICE: I want to record and release my own music because I know a lot of talented artists and producers who need to be heard by the right people to jump start their careers. With the deejaying platform and the blueprint I have, it will be done. I make mixtapes to promote artists and producers, and in return they will bless me with a verse, a hook, an adlib, a beat, or whatever I need to complete my songs. From there, I release my single and we all get exposure from that project. Just like my deejay brothers, Dj Clue, Dj Khaled, Dj Drama ,and Dj Mustard are doing.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?
DJ ICE: My songs are about real life situations. If any of my artists are rapping or singing about it, best believe we have or someone we know have experienced it. We talk about from the struggles of our upbringing to the success of being business and brand owners─ as most of us are today. The best music comes from the heart and soul.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?
DJ ICE: I would describe my music to people as real music because people can relate to our music and they can tell there is no gimmicks or lies to the stories we are telling. It’s all 100% real life stories.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?
DJ ICE: What makes my music stands out from other artists is that my music is hitting all genres across the board. I have something for everyone: Hip Hop, R&B, House, Pop, Old School, Jazzy, Soul, Dance, and even Country.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS:Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in your music career and how did you overcome?
DJ ICE: One of the hardest challenges I’ve faced was working a full time job that demanded 10 hour shifts, deejaying on 2 radio stations: desertstormradio.com /http://desertstormradio.com/ and toobigradio.com /http://toobigradio.com/, while attending college. I overcame that challenge by managing my time and sleeping only 3 hours a day sometimes.

I have a roster of artists that I collaborate with that you will be hearing about soon.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
DJ ICE: I am considered a seasoned vet so I have pretty much accomplished career goals that I set as a youngster. So right now I only have one goal, and that is to get one of these artists signed, or placed on the correct platform to get what they deserve from this music business. In ten years,
