IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?
QUILLY EURO: I am from a very small city in North Carolina called Elizabeth City, born and raised, but I have lived in Raleigh, NC for the last 6 years just trying to chase my dreams and give all North Carolina artists the recognition and notoriety it truly deserves.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?
QUILLY EURO: Growing up, I was exposed to a lot of old school R&B/soul legends such as Al Green, Teddy Pendergrass, and Gap band due to the fact that my mom loved that type of music─ so it grew on me instantly. I did not discover that I loved hip hop until my aunt bought me 2pac legendary album, All Eyes On Me, in the summer of 1996. That was when I realized there were artists speaking on the everyday struggles that I could relate to. So after years of practicing, sleepless nights at the kitchen table writing rhymes, and studying the art from legends like Jay-Z, B.I.G, and Eminem; I decided to begin my career at the age of 16 just doing local talent showcases and traveling city to city battling on street corners just trying earn respect as a true MC. But overall, I honestly listen to all music, Rock N Roll, country, and jazz. When the music is good it is universal.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?
QUILLY EURO: I believe that I can honestly add a totally different element to the music industry other than just boasting about drugs, cars, clothes and women. I just want to restore the realness and the feeling of hope back into the people’s minds and hearts. I want to be the voice of the everyday working class civilian that you will never hear or see. The reason I began doing music was to inspire people of all different races and cultures coming from the same struggles that I had to persevere through. And if you continue to work hard and keep your faith in God, you will overcome any obstacle placed in front of you. My desire to make and release music to the public, and solely just to make feel good quality music from the heart that people can relate to and believe in again.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?
QUILLY EURO: My songs range from many different topics. I have songs that touch on topics from the life of a man or woman working a 9 to 5 job just to survive. Also, I write a lot of songs about all of my brothers that are incarcerated and trapped in the system whether due to drug dealing or the senseless violence that seems to plague my country year after year. I absolutely enjoy writing feel good songs to make people dance and feel happy. Overall, anything that is current in today’s world that would usually go unnoticed and unspoken. I try my best to speak on its existence and bring it to the forefront so that I can keep the people aware that there are artist that still care. I strongly feel like as an artist it is my obligation that we use our voices to say what is real whether we fear the consequences or not. So if I had to describe my music in one word I would just say different.
