Sun Star Records artist Joe Galaxy is anything but your typical musician. The multi-hybrid rhymer showcases a futuristic sound that crosses genres and delivers music that appeals to fans of techno, pop, rock and hip-hop. Influenced by everyone from Beethoven to Nirvana and Led Zeppelin to Lil Wayne, Galaxy got his break after meeting Still Hustlin’ CEO and flagship artist Renegade Foxxx at a radio station. Foxxx, an innovative star in his own right, was immediately drawn to Galaxy’s magnetism and passion for music. The two quickly began collaborating on tracks, birthing the infectious dance club anthem “Crazy Sexy” and the motivational “Bankroll”. Joe started 2013 dropping the smash hit single “Hot College Girl” in February. Joe continued 2015 by completing his album and double releasing “Walk It” Ft Pitbull & Renegade Foxxx and “Drinkin the Night Away”. 2016 is the year to be “Grateful” and release the debut album early Spring called the same: “Grateful”.

An accomplished actor who has appeared in various commercials and even an episode of America’s Most Wanted, Joe Galaxy will continue working on his craft as he pursues his career in music. With a few movie roles on the horizon, Galaxy will be making an impact on popular culture in every facet of entertainment. Galaxy is the definition of a modern entertainer, crossing boundaries and pushing the limits while still staying true to himself. Joe looks forward to dominating the rest of 2016 and introducing his sound to the world.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?

JOE GALAXY: I was born in Georgetown, D.C. and raised in Alexandria, Virginia.  D.C.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?

JOE GALAXY: Well, I played the recorder in 4th grade and one time I bought a Steinway & Sons grand piano just because I could. It was always my life’s dream to own one.  Other than that, in college I literally started with 2 turntables, a microphone, a DJ sound system and crates of old music records.  I’ll never forget going through all those records looking for loops, drinking a 40 instead of studying.  I used to DJ parties and clubs in college.  I taught myself how to make beats and produce.  I produced a 5 song demo tape, and I was told it was terrible, lol.  But we all start somewhere, hahaha.  But that lead me to making my smash single, Joe Galaxy “Drinkin the Night Away”. Also check out my latest promo video on my Youtube Channel, @1JoeGalaxy.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?

JOE GALAXY: Because music is the answer fam!  The power of one song, the power of music with the people is beyond comprehension but look at how it makes you feel good or sad, or confident.  I love the process of creating something big and then sharing it with the world.  Music is the ultimate challenge and the reward with friends and followers is equally worth it.  I’m an actor too, but music is definitely where it’s at!  It’s just plain fun and life it too short to not have a lot of fun.  The feeling of having your music played on radio and in the clubs and people enjoying themselves and forgetting their perceived problems for a moment means they are in the moment.  To have anything to do with that means I entertained and contributed to happiness.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?

JOE GALAXY: My songs are about having fun, success, positivity, and winning at life.  My song, “Bankroll” lyrics go, “Ain’t nuthin’ movin’ but my Bankroll, if your gettin money and your holdin your own, then you can join my party, welcome to my Galaxy, you can join my party“.  This is a party for winners holding their own.  That summarizes the whole movement.  Let’s go!  Also, my songs are about partying and having fun!  I am a grinder, but I love to have fun.  I say work hard and play harder.  So my songs are about grindin’. Stay tuned for the release of my single, “Grindin By Myself” later in the year and the release of “I’m So Drunk”, It’s the hangover sequel to my current Gorilla single, “Drinkin the Night Away”.  Stay up with me on Instagram: @TheJoeGalaxy.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who is your fan base directed towards?

JOE GALAXY: My fan base is mostly directed to 18-35 females.  The ladies are in the house.  But my dawgs are representing too!  The successful winners like my music.  I respect anyone who’s doing it, know what I’m saying?  Let’s get it poppin’ in 2016.  Can’t nothing or nobody stop me!  That’s your attitude and confidence this year.  I got mad respect for my dawgs and mad love for the ladies.  Right now my music is playing worldwide on major radio and in da clubs, I feel blessed: Big shout out to Europe, Asia, and Peace in the Middle East, and everywhere playing music.  I feel a lot of people who like fashion and style also checking me out because my fashion game is on point.  Come check me out at New York Fashion Week next month.  I’m trying to get down with Rihanna there.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?

JOE GALAXY: My role models are all artists who are on the grind and have achieved a high level of success and have fun doing it, while also making hot records.  There have been too many to list but just to name a few:  Pitbull, Rihanna, Demi Lovato, Chris Brown, Usher, Justin Bieber, Nirvana, Dave Grohl, Marvin Gaye, and Depeche Mode.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?

JOE GALAXY: I call it pop rap, club rap, dance music.  It’s really a fusion of rap, dance music, and it feels pop.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?

JOE GALAXY: Well, I’m a 6’2″, brown skinned, blonde guy that’s pretty marketable and interesting because when you look at me your going to try to figure out where I am from.  If you ask me, I’m going to say I’m from Outer Space that’s why my name is Joe Galaxy. I am really down to earth and humble.  I just try not to take myself too serious even though I am all about it and serious about my music career and putting out hit records.  We are going to have fun and bring the party because we are winning over here.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?

JOE GALAXY: 2016 is going to be epic!  I am working on my performance now and will be booking performances and tours where my music is hot.  Stay tuned and Instagram me: @TheJoeGalaxy for tour dates.  Also, I am releasing two new singles in the 1st quarter of 2016.  They will probably be out by the time this interview is published.  All I can say, is one of them is a sequel to “Drinkin the Night Away” and the other is a single that is in a league of it’s own.  My album is filled with singles, no filler records.  I’m looking forward to shooting my next music video, hopefully in Dubai.  Also, I am in discussions with major brands for various endorsement deals. I am also working on a Joe Galaxy clothing line.  It’s a very big situation right now!

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

JOE GALAXY: I want to win a Grammy, have a successful world tour, and bring more artist through Sun Star Records based in Miami.  I could see me doing major motion pictures within 10 years or sooner because I started as an actor and would love to return to it one day.  I see myself producing up and coming artists and giving back.
