IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?

NIGHTER TYME: I’m from Providence, Rhode Island.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?

NIGHTER TYME: I use to sing when I was a child in church back in Africa. I don’t remember much about it now, but I get reminded all the time by family members. During that time I sung in a different dialect.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?

NIGHTER TYME: (Hahaha) Well, I will hope every artist want to record and release their own music. One thing I know is I have the talent and I’m confident in saying this. People that come across my music let me know I have industry quality and that my content inspires them to grind harder in whatever obstacle they are facing. The love for music lives in me so it’s great hearing myself as an artist, and not just a fan of those that also create.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?

NIGHTER TYME: My songs are about what I’ve learned, seen, went through and the changes I hope to make as an individual. I’m versatile, but I rather make a positive impact or give out great vibe through lyrics.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who is your fan base directed towards?

NIGHTER TYME: Well, I have young folks that follow what I do closely and some tell me how I’m inspirational with some songs. Older hip-hop heads let me know my content gives them purpose to listen and how I’m different from my peers. Young and old, I don’t write as if I’m targeting just my age group, I’m more of a messenger.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?

NIGHTER TYME: My musical influence are Lucky Dube, Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye, Asa and Tupac Shakur. I’m into more of the message in music and I feel that those folks give me purpose. Right now Kendrick Lamar got my attention.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?

NIGHTER TYME: I will tell folks my music is motivational. I make music you can vibe to while at a party and mellow down through times of hardship.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?

NIGHTER TYME: Well, I feel that I’m something no one has ever heard before. I wouldn’t say lyrically I’ll blow you out the waters, but the voice and flow go together well with the instruments. I can give you many personalities in just one song to keep you awake.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?

NIGHTER TYME: I’m leaning towards dropping a mixtape called “24Minz of Wavez” to just keep my fans entertained as I work on furthering my career.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

NIGHTER TYME: I see myself in 5 or less years at the MTV, BET Awards showing the world how much talent I’ve been keeping from them. But in all 10 years I see myself more of a mogul like my idols, Diddy, Jay-Z, Rick Ross, someone with my own brand.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How can your fans access your music and contact you?

  8. Hot Artist here… like the interview. Hiphop all sound the same today. The NFL and the NBA always have new and exciting players all the time and they compete with each other to make the business better. Hiphop pass the ball to each other and there is no competition which in turn makes it harder for the industry to grow to be a NFL or a NBA Hiphop needs to sword sharpen sword to make better art for the world. People are ready for this but I dont think the hiphop art is.
