IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?

ELUSIVE: I am from Sacramento, California. I’m from Del Paso Heights otherwise known as the “Deep Part Of Hell” DPH if ya nasty lol.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?

ELUSIVE: I grew up with mom playing Salt & Pepa, En Vogue, LL Cool J, and Krs-One. Back when B.E.T and MTV really played videos. I always was infatuated with the NY scene, so I studied how they moved. My grandfather always had blues going, so I was exposed to all genres somehow. Grandma always had me in church, and my white friends loved Nirvana . You liable to catch my cruising to some throwback System Of A Down.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?

ELUSIVE: I have a lot to say in many different ways. I feel that I could relate to people, and be a voice for not just myself but others that don’t have one. Life has many ups and downs. I just want to help the world through that with music.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?

ELUSIVE: It just depends on the time, and space I’m in. I write about my surroundings, life, and where it’s taking me. A mix of lows and highs of an upcoming artist from California making a way in the east coast. You could hear a song about when I was broke and homeless to being in love with a female that broke my heart. I right about everything from street life to providing for a young life and more. I might do a track about interviews now lol. When you have traveled and been around there is no end to what you can speak on.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who is your fan base directed towards?

ELUSIVE: I love making music. Whether it is for the youth, my age, or older. People in the streets, school, 9-5 grind, and all can enjoy the sounds of E.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?

ELUSIVE: It’s so many, from Diddy to Ice Cube, L.A Reid, Master P, And More. I think my real influences are my mom and my kids. I like having them around, trying to learn, and genuinely supporting. I tend to block out everything else and focus on family outside of music.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?

ELUSIVE: We call it “feel” music. Meaning I can take you through a emotional roller coaster off a full project, and at the end of it all you’ll want to do it again.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?

ELUSIVE: My drive, work ethic, passion, and originality. I’m not afraid to step outside the box, or put my life on a record. Fans want to connect, and feel close with you, so why not open up and give them the real you.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?

ELUSIVE: We have “Independent Hustle” the mixtape we are gearing up to drop 2nd quarter, as well as “Intervention” the album coming later 3rd/4th quarter. “Independent Hustle” is more of the fun street club feel project, while “Intervention” is the personal look into my life.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

ELUSIVE: I want to be the ultimate power house! I want to do everything ranging from film production, clothing, talent management, and more. Of course I want to headline a tour, have a number one single, and a few awards wouldn’t hurt. All seriousness I want to create more jobs, and stabilize less fortunate peoples lives around me.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How can your fans access your music and contact you?

ELUSIVE: I’m everywhere! Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat @therealelusive elusivemusic.bandcamp.com and reverbnation.com/theofficialelusive

  11. I met this man over ten years ago….

He was living here in Grand Rapids, MI at the time…
He was breakdancing at the Intersection, which is a local hot spot for venues and such.
He laid some verses on me and I was taken by them in the fact that I asked him, “Why the hell you not doin this for a livin bruh?”

From that point he said, “That’s what I’m about to do now..”

Ever since then, I’ve been following him on YouTube and SoundCloud and I’ve personally videotaped him rockin over beats dope beats by various producers….

He is definitely a showstopper in my book.

I’m anticipating a return of his presence here to collaborate with me on some hot tracks…

    Keep it lava Marques!!
