IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?

ALVIN J IV: Primarily to keep my hard work and dedication in my own hands. You hear a lot about how so many artists have been taken advantage of by major labels. Not to mention that it’s my passion to record music. I love the fact that I have the ability to bring lyrics to life. It truly is an intoxicating feeling to record my own music.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?

ALVIN J IV: My music is about many things that I have experienced. All I want people to know is thy self. Once you tap into your true self and dedicate your life to making thy self more positive. Success is limitless. So in a nut shell you could say it’s about hope. However, hope is only the beginning. First there’s hope then you feel the confidence that’s thy self. Thy self is the oneness that brings all people together.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?

ALVIN J IV: The biggest influence on me has to be hands down Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, and Tupac Shakur. All time favorite artists’, because they made music from their hearts and the people felt them. They all had a message to give within their music. I’m all about the music, and my dream to be successful in this industry. I want to give the people all of me in my music with consistency.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?

ALVIN J IV: My music is what you want to hear as well as what you need to hear. Don’t give up on yourself as well as turn up type of music. Not disrespectful yet confident type of music. Trap music sound as well as neo-soul/R&B type of music. I’m what the people haven’t asked for, yet I crave to hear in an industry full of imitations. A new wave will begin with the sound I have to offer as an artist as well as a singer.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?

ALVIN J IV: Other than the fact that I’m the best…lol. Honestly not very much makes me different from other artist, because in the grand scheme of things we’re all one. I stand out because I’m new and the material is fresh. Everyone likes fresh new things especially music. I am that fresh new thing that they’ve been looking for to hear. I have much more music to give as well.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in your music career and how did you overcome?

ALVIN J IV: My hardest challenge I had to face was in the beginning of my career. My first deal with my first manager. A guy could sell you a lie like a used car salesman. He actual pirated my music and also had me paying for studio time. All the while he was taking money off of the top of it with his producer. Once I found out he was fired, however he had power of attorney of the name I used as an artist at the time. 50K he made off of it with only one single recorded. I had to learn the business in that aspect the hard way. Now I am cautious with a better set of eyes for snakes lurking in the grass. I judge characters based on actions and not words. Talk is cheap my time isn’t.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?

ALVIN J IV: Currently work on a project called “The Transition”. This is the one that is going to spark thy self into being. Basically bringing organic life in the realm of true underground music. It’s about realizing your potential and bringing it out of you. Rather it be professing, playing ball, or pursuing your vision. We all have to go through the process of transitioning to who we want to become in our own lives. My transition is to self, and self isn’t conceited. Self is the oneness in all of us.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

ALVIN J IV: Ultimate goal for me in my career is only do music for the rest of my life. All I want is to write record and create beautiful music. I create edgy music that keeps you positive without the hate. Not everything in this world is negative. Lets become the positive through self. In ten years I see myself deep in this industry changing lives through my music. Bringing back the feeling of good music hate free. The kind of music you can sing anywhere without social bias of popular hip-hop and R&B. Trap-sol…yea trap-sol is the new genre 10 years from now.
