IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?

GE DA PIOLET: I’m from a small town in South Carolina called Sumter. The town is nick named Merk City for the violence that goes on in my area. South Carolina seems like the bottom which it is.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?

GE DA PIOLET: I was into music during my middle school days. My friends and I use to freestyle battle just to make time pass. Also I’m into graphic design as well. My music background consists of working with artist such as Gucci Mane, OJ Da Juiceman, Waka Flocka, Lil B, Young Dro and the list goes on. I’m also the in house designer for Trap-A-Holics Mixtapes. I designed a lot of mixtape covers for major artists and producers at the beginning of their career. I used my tools to build relationships with some of the artist and producers, so my name is floating around in the music world, but as a designer. I want people to respect me as an artist so I’m using my resources to convert the followers of my work into my music. I also know how to compose and produce music as well. That was one of my hobbies. I want to build the music and all aspects of my brand F16 regime and make it top tier one day.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?

GE DA PIOLET: I want to record and release my own music because this is something I always wanted to do. I love hearing my own music and I love my sound. I feel as though a lot of people I cross paths with in this music business that I know personally started off like me. Now majority of them have names in this business such as artist and producers. Also, I want to prove people in my area wrong that said I couldn’t do it. I believe I have what it takes to change the sound again.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?

GE DA PIOLET: My songs are about life in general, the good and the bad. The songs can have energy, but have meaning to it. I like to talk bout being up to par and being fly. That’s why my name is what it is, GE Da Piolet.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?

GE DA PIOLET: My musical influences are Jay Z, Fabolous Cam’ron, Dipset, Nas, Kanye West, Gucci Mane, Jeezy, and Future
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?

GE DA PIOLET: I would describe my music as reality music. The music I make talks about the good and bad times. I make club music that has catchy lyrics. I also like to make my music epic. So within my sound, I would say it has an epic feel to it.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?

GE DA PIOLET: My sound makes me stand out from other artists. My voice sounds different. I don’t try to sound like nobody. I want to sound like me.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in your music career and how did you overcome?

GE DA PIOLET: One of the hardest challenges in music is having little to none. I’m not from a background of having money. I just know all about the struggle. The struggle can help build the foundation of success. That’s what I’m about, starting from a little bit to gain a whole lot. Also another challenge is people not believing in my talent or not seeing it like I do. I believe in myself and that fuels me to keep going.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?

GE DA PIOLET: My upcoming project I’m working on is called Work In Progress. The mixtape is hosted by my DJ and good friend Trap-A-Holics. I will release this project April 16th. The producers on my project range from Metro Boomin YK of 808 mafia, Lex Luger, Deedotwill, Nito Beats, MPC Cartel, & C4 BOMBS
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

GE DA PIOLET: My career goal is to learn more about this music business so I can take it to the next level with a business mind. I want to build my brand in all aspects and have value in my company, which is F16 Regime. The next 10 Years I want to have success. I want to have successful businesses, and possibly run my own record label. I want to get into real estate, own properties, and have my own graphic firm. I just want to use this opportunity as a stepping-stone to great things like I watched artist that influenced me do.
