Chivias Thompson (born October 24, 1994), better known by his stage name Keylo Da Beast, is an American rapper from Charleston, SC. Thompson was bestowed the nickname Keylo by one of his childhood friends, he was raised in Liberty Hill of North Charleston, SC. Da Beast started making music at the age of six when he inspired by his older cousin Jamal. Since then he has been working producing and writing. As Keylo, he has released two singles “A Long Way” and “Motivated”

Keylo got arrested in 2012, having been sentenced to 2 years probation after pleading guilty to robbery charges. As of right now Keylo is currenty working on his E.P. (A Long Way) and his debut mixtape (The Mind Games).

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?

KEYLO DA BEAST: I was born in Charleston, SC and grew up in Liberty Hill Community.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?

KEYLO DA BEAST: When I was younger, I loved to listen to B.G, Scarface, 2pac, Boosie, Bun B and Biggie. Music has always been a part of me. I made my first song when I was 6. I made the beat on my cousin computer and wrote the lyrics later on that day.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?

KEYLO DA BEAST: I really just enjoy making music. I can express how I feel and interpret life how I see it. When I’m in the studio recording or making a beat I’m in another world that no one can come to except me.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?

KEYLO DA BEAST: My songs are about my ambitions to become successful no matter what it takes. Staying motivated when you’re down to your last and pushing when you feel you can’t go no more. I’m not letting any distractions stop my hustle.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?

KEYLO DA BEAST: Boosie and Jasmine Sullivan because those are two very passionate artists. They express themselves so deeply when you listen to their music and you can tell it’s real.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?

KEYLO DA BEAST: My music is encouraging, fun, exciting, stimulating, and true.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?

KEYLO DA BEAST: My voice and delivery, it’s just unique.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in your music career and how did you overcome?

KEYLO DA BEAST: The hardest challenge I had to face in my music career was branching of from old friends that just weren’t as serious as I was my career.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?

KEYLO DA BEAST: I’m currently working on my E.P. called A Long Way. The name speaks for itself. It’s going to be a teaser compared to my upcoming mixtape, The Mind Games.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

KEYLO DA BEAST: It has always been my goals to obtain 7 Grammys and go double platinum on all of my albums. In ten years I will have my own clothing line, recording studio, and a foundation were I can give back to future artists.
