A soldier in the army, a director, and a talented artist, Kyle Ahart is a triple threat. Kyle has the ambition and the abilities to make himself a major player in 2016. Armed with a distinctive sound, strong visuals, and determination, Kyle Ahart is a breath of fresh air.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?
KYLE AHART: I am from Houston, but moved to Livingston Texas when I was younger. I finished high school in Silsbee, Texas.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?
KYLE AHART: Graduated “Florida Institute of recording sound and technology for Audio Engineering and Music Production. I also graduated the Filmmaking program at Full Sail University. I’ve worked on tours like Wale’s Ambition tour, Big Sean “I’m Finally Famous tour” , BIG K.R.I.T. “Live From The Underground” Tour and more as an independent filmmaker for a promotional company. I’ve also worked with artist like A$AP, Rocko, Beanie Sigel and more as a director
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?
KYLE AHART: Music has always been that safe haven for me. It’s where I go when I’m hurting. I just feel like there are a lot of people out there who has been through what I’ve been through and can relate.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?
KYLE AHART: The hip-hop side of me talks about my life, my journey, my struggles my growth and healing. The rap side of me just likes to have fun. I tend to take more risk musically. That’s where my grit and aggressive nature is musically. That side is more so for the cars, clubs, etc. That’s the side where I’m unapologetic and I just say and do what I want.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who is your fan base directed towards?
KYLE AHART: My fan base consist of 18-40, Veterans, hip-hop junkies, the clubbers, and my southerners who love to hear their trunk knock.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?
KYLE AHART: My musical influences are BB King, BIG K.R.I.T., Preach407, David Breed, Erin Major, my brothers over there at G&B productions and all my instructors who I challenged in school because I wasn’t ok with mediocrity. I love learning and last but not least, anyone who took the time to help educate and mold me into who I am musically, today.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?
KYLE AHART: My music is honest, intense, energetic, soulful, and fun.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?
KYLE AHART: I planned for this opportunity. I remember in 2008 while sitting in a conex on night shift in Mugdadiyah, Iraq while reading about Myspace‘s top 50 artist in the Vibe magazine.
I know a lot of people who gave their lives on and off the battlefield who would love to have the opportunity to be in the position I am in and I definitely don’t take any of this for granted.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?
KYLE AHART: Currently I’m finishing up the “My Side Of The Story” project and then I’ll start writing the script for a movie for it. A lot of people listened to this project and say, “he can’t rap or all he does is talk about pain and etc.” Truth is this project for me is really just a goodbye to a lot of issues in my life that were holding me back in life.
IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
KYLE AHART: My goal is to finish building my production studio, and in 10 years I plan on writing and filming my 2nd feature film by then.
