IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?

KAM JAMES: I was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, in the North Side.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?

KAM JAMES: I first started off making beats, but I’ve always really loved music since I was a child. So as I got older I got more and more into it. Understanding things more and my ear for things started to grow more and more too. I started making beats, and my friend put FL studios on my computer. I didn’t know what I was doing or how to do anything. Every day and night I would be locked up in my room watching YouTube videos and practicing, I started getting addicted. I couldn’t go a day without messing around with a beat. So one day I made up a beat and it was perfect. I was in my room hype, “Like yo somebody has to hear this and rap on it.” The beat kept playing over and over and I just started free styling off the top and I was like wow. That was hard, it shocked me at first. After that I would just start writing every day and I couldn’t leave it alone. It got so deep that I would just write for hours and I forgot all about the beats. But now I’m getting back into the producing.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?

KAM JAMES: The feeling I got from writing my first rhyme to a beat was something I can never forget. I felt something I never felt before and after that I knew I wanted to do this every single day and get better and better. It’s the best feeling being able to sit back and hear your own self on a track and listen to the lyrics. It’s the best feeling being able to listen to your flow, the timing, and just study yourself. Its’ nice to make something that you actually enjoy and like. It’s addicting.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?

KAM JAMES: My songs are about real life things and real situations I’ve been through. Some songs I like to paint pictures and take the listeners on a ride All of my music comes from a real place, a real situation, or a real thought I’ve had. All of my songs help you to get to know who I am and what I’m into.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who is your fan base directed towards?

KAM JAMES: My fan base if for any and everybody. I make music for all people. My songs appeal to all ages. I have 30-50-year-olds that dap me up and salute me and 11-30 year old that do the same. If it’s real and something new you can’t help but respect it and appreciate it. I’m not trying to be nothing I’m not, or paint a picture of myself that isn’t authentic.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?

KAM JAMES: My musical influences are Tupac, J. Cole, Drake, and a lot of old school R&B.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?

KAM JAMES: Every song from me is like an autobiography. I tell you where I came from and my journey from when I first started making music. I write about things I’ve seen and what I go through on a daily basis that I don’t talk to anybody about. Every song you get to know Me not as just an artist, but a person. I like to make my songs real and relatable. My music is something you can play and vibe to and really feel and connect with on a personal level.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes your stand out from other people?

KAM JAMES: My style, my voice, my topics, my melodies, my beats, my song titles, my look, my personality all make me stand out. I’m myself. I know myself, I love what I do and I know who I am.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects that you are currently working on?

KAM JAMES: I have two projects coming soon, videos, collaborations, and a lot of new next level music.
