IAA SPOTLIGHT: GET TO KNOW NEW JERSEY’S- LexusSoLexus- What Makes Her Flow So Unique? | @LexusSoLexus

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What city and state are you from?

LexusSoLexus: The whole state of Jersey, the whole world actually. I traveled a lot and lived a lot of places, dealing with my mom and my dad. I basically just rep the whole state of New Jersey, since I’ve experienced all of the differences of the state. North & South Jersey are completely different, Newark, Lawnside and Lindenwold specifically. I went to like 8 schools my whole life. Nowadays, you can catch me in Philly or South Jersey.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What is your music background?

LexusSoLexus: Mainly Hip -Hop and R&B. I listen to everything, but mainly those two. My dad played the trumpet and my Grandma taught me how to play the piano, so I was always surrounded by music. I have a bunch cousins who DJ, rap or sing as well. Reggae gets honorable mention tho. Free Buju.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Why do you want to record and release your own music?

LexusSoLexus: I want to be the change I want to see and I’m in love with the game, man. This shit is fun.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your songs about?

LexusSoLexus: Probably just saying what everyone is thinking when doing life reflections, the process of emotions, the truth that we’re scared of admitting.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Who are your musical influences?

LexusSoLexus: Nas, Lil Kim, Mobb Deep, Mary J. Blige, A$ap Rocky, Robb Bank$, Lauryn Hill, Michael Jackson, Travis Scott, & Azealia Banks. Of course there are more, but those 10 artists stick out the most to me.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How would you describe your music to people?

LexusSoLexus: Eclectic and lyrical. Never know what you’ll get.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What makes you stand out from other artists?

LexusSoLexus: I blend old school rap traditions with a new school aura.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in your music career and how did you overcome?

LexusSoLexus: Probably the only hard thing I experienced in music so far was switching my flow. The homies would have my flow down to the tee & make freestyles mocking my flow. This was not in a bad way. I just don’t like predictability, so I had to change that ASAP.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?

LexusSoLexus: Esoteric Retribution. Only few will understand the revenge. 8/21/17. Been through a lot of eye-opening things this past year so I just put it all in this project. RIP POPPZ.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

LexusSoLexus: I want to build a team with all type of artists under the name YouSoYou. Mainly videographers, painters, photographers and sonic artists. I hope, in 10 years, I’ve been out of Jersey for a while getting that vocabulary money with a few movies and projects under my belt. In 10 years, I believe YouSoYou will be a household name for broadcasting of every type of art.

IAA INDUSTRY NEWS: How can your fans access your music and contact you?

LexusSoLexus: Everything LexusSoLexus: Soundcloud, Youtube, Instagram, Twitter.
