This Year Kevin Hart will not be hosting the 91st Academy Awards. Kevin refused to apologize for homophobic tweets and comments he has made in the past, which is why he has decided to step down from hosting the awards. Hart announced the news via Twitter on Thursday night (Dec 6), offering an “I’m sorry” to anyone from the LGBTQ community he’s offended.
“I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s….this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists,” he tweeted. “I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past.”
